Interview with Miles Wheway
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are your reference tracks and why are they your references? Would you like the track quantised to a bpm or free? What's the most important part in the song (instrument or section)?
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I usually mix in-the-box with either Pro Tools or Logic Pro. I find the digital domain provides much more control over fine-tuning mixes, especially when making alterations for revisions.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my work is mixing down projects. This also often includes editing, comping and tuning instruments and vocals. Sometimes I have also been required to fix audio problems using iZotope's RX8.
