Pop and R&B songwriter and producer delivering release ready songs for independent artists and media projects. Worked with 100 plus clients internationally as producer, songwriter and session musician.
I’m a pop and R&B songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist working with independent artists who want a modern, emotionally focused and release-ready sound.
My background includes over 100 completed projects as a producer, songwriter, mix engineer and session musician for international clients, alongside original music released under my own artist project.
I mainly work in pop, dance pop and contemporary R&B, with influences ranging from disco pop to modern urban pop.
I collaborate remotely with artists across Europe and the United States, working both from demos and from scratch ideas.
I can help with:
• Songwriting and topline writing
• Music production and arrangement
• Vocal production and comping
• Pop and R&B mixing
• Session instruments and additional production
• From drafts to release-ready tracks
If you’re looking for a reliable collaborator who understands both the creative and technical side of music, I’m happy to talk about your project.

check_circleVerifiedThe recording is beautifully done, the acoustic guitar sounds crisp and professional and has a lovely tone. Not to mention, the timing is perfect and the recording really has character. I am very much looking forward to using this in a final recording and would definitely use Luke's services again.
Interview with Luke Rhodes
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I worked on original music for a feature film distributed in theaters and on Prime Video. I handled music composition, arrangement, production, and final delivery, adapting the sound to narrative and emotional needs.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Pop and pop R&B projects for independent artists, as well as original music for visual media and personal releases.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I believe SoundBetter has a strong community of specialists. When needed, I’m always happy to recommend collaborators based on the specific project.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Mostly digital for flexibility and precision, but always with an analog inspired mindset focused on warmth, dynamics, and musicality.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Clear communication, respect for the song, and a finished result that feels honest, polished, and ready to be released.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Helping artists hear their ideas fully realized and watching a song evolve from a rough concept into something complete and meaningful.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: “Can you make it sound professional?” Yes, the goal is always to deliver a finished, release ready track, not just a demo.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That production is just about sound quality. In reality, it’s about shaping emotion, structure, and identity so the song actually connects.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What’s the goal of the song Who is the artist and audience Do you have references you love What stage is the project in When do you want it released
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who understands your vision and the song, not just the technical side. Clear communication and shared references make all the difference.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A laptop with my DAW A reliable pair of headphones A condenser microphone A MIDI keyboard An audio interface
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been writing, producing, and releasing music for over a decade. I started as a songwriter and artist myself, then gradually expanded into full song production for other artists and visual media.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Modern, melodic, and song focused. I aim for clean, emotional pop production that supports the vocal and enhances the story without overproducing.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’m drawn to artists who balance strong pop identity with emotional depth. I enjoy working with performers who care about songwriting and storytelling as much as production.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always prioritize the song over the sound. A great vocal performance and strong arrangement will carry a mix much further than plugins or technical tricks.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Modern pop and pop R&B. I mostly work with artists looking for contemporary, melodic songs with strong toplines, clean production, and a polished, release ready sound.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Turning ideas into finished, release ready pop songs. I’m strongest at combining songwriting, arrangement, production, and final mix into a cohesive record that works emotionally and commercially.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Perspective, structure, and clarity. I help shape ideas into a focused song that feels intentional, emotional, and finished.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start with understanding the artist and reference material, develop the song structure and production, refine vocals and arrangement, then deliver a polished final mix with revisions if needed.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: A fully in the box setup with professional monitoring, quality microphones, and a streamlined workflow focused on songwriting, production, and final mix efficiency.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Producers and songwriters who blend strong pop sensibility with emotional storytelling and modern production aesthetics.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Full song production for pop artists, from early ideas or demos to a finished, release ready track including arrangement, production, and final mix.
