I've written songs like "Where Is The Love" (Black Eyed Peas) to "My Time" (BTS). I'm looking to connect with NEW people, and create 'forever' songs. I'm a 3X Grammy Award winning songwriter, producer, artist and multi-instrumentalist. Also, I do horn arranging, remixes and score for commercials and film. ...anything from Trap to Folk to? Le' Go!
OFFERING: (lower fees in respect of Covid)
Full productions from scratch, all the way to the finish line. If you need a helping hand with a current production, I can do that, as well; drums, production, horns, horn arrangements, strings, vocals, top line, re-harmonizations, soundscapes, remixes, sound design, and just adding that final spice.
I DO/HAVE DONE:
"Radio Ready" Songs, Underground Songs, Remixes, Instrumental pieces, Commercials, Soundtracks, ADR, and Sound Design.
I am extremely versatile with styles and vibes. I build songs around what SERVES the song and the artist. Rough ideas are welcomed! I can translate those inner thoughts into outer reality.
I AM:
Printz Board... Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, which plays into my grounded approach to life and song creation... Living in Los Angeles, CA, I have a pulse on what's current, and how to lead that charge to the CREATIVE finish line. I've written 10s of thousands of songs. I've acquired BMI Awards, Grammys, etc. However, I'm most excited about the NEXT thing Im going to do... with you.
I know how hard it can be sometimes, so let me be your fresh ears and teammate in your vision.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Printz Board
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Black Eyed Peas. We went from nothing to arguably the biggest band in the world. Songwriter, Producer, Musician, Musical Director, Vocalist
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment, I am working on a new folk-pop-soul album for PARKER LANE, a TV Series, a short film and the next BTS album.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Panning is the poor mans mix. It's so valuable. Simply pushing the guitar to the right, and the reverb to the left, you create space and depth.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: All types of music are my jam.... I have most of my accolades in Pop, RnB, HipHop and Folk, however Im well versed in tons of other genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: A huge part of songwriting and production is communication. I know how to communicate a person's idea when they can't, along with translating those sometimes confusing concepts into simple, digestible songs.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring authenticity, and richness to a song. It isn't that I feel that I embody the 'gold' that every song needs, but that I can look at a song from the outside and know what makes it an honest piece of art.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Typically, I go with the flow of the person I'm working with, as to where we start. If you have chords, we can start there.. If you have lyrics, we can start there... If you have a full song and want a different approach, we can do that, too. With the current state of the world, I use a combination of Zoom, Pro Tools Realtime sessions, and Google Drive/Dropbox.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have 2 studios. My main studio is simple, yet with all the equipment I mentioned on the front page. I can everything done there except for Drum Kit, Strings and Choir.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Im inspired by people who have made a difference: SIA to Miles Davis to Michael Jackson to Billie Eillish. Certain engineers can do that, as well, like Dave Pensado, Tony Maserati, Jason Joseph, etc.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Usually, I find myself doing full productions from scratch. I'm able to move within any circle, having the ability to sit back or step forward depending on what the artist is comfortable with.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I would recommend KOIL. He is awesome at what he does, and just a great human being.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog. I like the warmth. You can somewhat replicate it with plugins, but once you get a few different things done digitally, you can hear the difference.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: On time delivery, Great attitude, and - You WILL get what you want.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I LOVE making a difference. I LOVE making songs with a purpose. I LOVE pushing more positivity into the universe. and I just LOVE how it makes me feel.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Usually people want to know if its going to be a 'hit'... A hit song requires the song, the dedication AND the team.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception is that it's "easy". Once you know what youre doing, it becomes "easi-ER", but it is FAR from easy. The little details are what counts.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I am a seasoned veteran with multiple #1 songs, including a number 1 album in 2020. I know how to do it all, with quality and efficiency.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My trumpet, ukele, cajón, suitcase rhodes and a tambourine!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started at the bottom. ...went to college, got paid $20 a person for shows... all the way up to #1 songs and performing in front of over 100,000 people, repeatedly. I've been in the game for over 15 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is fluid. You wanna party uptempo? - Lets go!!! If you wanna chill, and write a piano ballad? let's do that.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I prefer new artists, and ones that aren't 'jaded'. I approach EVERY situation with an open mind not tainted by any previous ones.
