I'm a super fan of your productions Ray , I have been following your work closely since you produce that Hit song with wrathchilds Fall Into love . Come produce a Hit song with me here in Brazil
I have worked with Ray on various occasions over the past 15 years. His skill set and talents as a composer and pianist are phenomenal, but it's truly rare to see these assets paired with such a keen production prowess and awareness of sounds, aesthetic, and arrangements. He's a true professional and a valuable asset for any project - highly recommended.
Ray is a phenomenal talent and a super nice guy! He is a rare combination of someone who has classical training but understands what it takes to make modern music that is relevant. Most producers doing modern music don't have the kind of training or traditional ability that Ray has. It allows him to create very quickly while maintaining a vision for the entire production, not to mention it makes him super easy to work with. I could not recommend him enough!
This boy can do it all! Being trained under classical and jazz professors, Ray has a wide range in music and can execute all other genres in between. He’s innovative with sounds and knows how to write a catchy tune, keeping it fresh and hip. If working with him, take his word, he knows what he’s talking about! Oh, and he's a Radass human being too! 😊
Raymond is unreal. One of the single best musicians around. I have listened to his remixes and tracks for weeks without getting bored: his sounds are one of a kind. Also genuine, hilarious and mindful. Top tier.
It's hard to say anything short about Ray's musicality and wizardry without it sounding like an impossible claim; but as a published songwriter and recording artist of 15 years worth of collaborations, I can hands down say that Ray is the best musician and producer I have ever had the honor of working with. He's got his own unique sound that allows him and the artists he works with to really stand out from the crowd, but at the same time can effortlessly bring another's vision to life. And as an added bonus, he's a kind and awesome human that can get on with anyone. On album #2 with him.
Ray was one of the first music producers I had the pleasure to work with. He has a talent that is hard to match. He was super patient and made me feel confident while working with him. Ray is super passionate about music and it is infectious and lights a spark in those around him :)
Ray breathes it. He recognizes the note you're singing or playing, and suggests the harmony note on the keyboard without hunting or pecking. Ahhh, I see! Ray has got a workflow that just works. Can't wait to collaborate with him on my next project. Thank you Ray.
I have known Ray for more than 8 years and he is one of the most patient, caring and intelligent musicians I have known. He really listens to your questions and tries to explain concepts intuitively and deeply. It has been a joy having him explain a large range of musical concepts to me throughout the years, as well as learning to use modern music tech from him. He has both a vast and deep knowledge of all things musics (theory, software, hardware, vocals, to name a few), and I could not recommend him more!!
Ray is an outstanding musician and producer. His ear is unlike any other. His pitch is on point an de his ear for arrangement was so helpful for my demo.
I loved working with Ray, not only is he a great guy but his passion for music is contagious.
Thank you for a great time!
Ray is an amazing producer and keyboard player. I have collaborated with him many times and he has the total package of what it takes to make a great song by combining his musical theory, sound design and keyboard skills.
Hands down one of the most profound musicians I’ve ever worked with.
Ray is an absolute genius. I’ve know him for, wow, 8 years now! His creativity, drive, and knowledge is astounding and honestly, a continuing source of personal motivation. Beyond his musical prowess, he is a solid, caring, and dependable human.
Not only is he a great keyboard player, but also a wonderful person. I highly recommend any kind of music work with this fine gentleman.
Ray Reich is an amazing producer. He has produced several of my projects and brought my vision to another level. Thank you for everything.
Ray is an absolute wizard. Rarely do you find such an accomplished musician with his production ability. He has great musical taste and instincts and insane talent. I would gladly recommend Ray in many capacities when it comes music!
I've been a student of Ray's for many years. His ability to clearly communicate and bestow knowledge onto his pupils while still managing to make learning fun is something I've yet to see anyone else hone in such a perfect manner.
He is a master in both modern pop and classical writing, which makes for a very interesting perspective with regards to songwriting. In the studio, this approach is a breath of fresh air in a world full of common brow plebeian producers. Ray has sound fundamental knowledge of classical sensibility which he's able to craft a modern indie pop vibe that's timeless.
Ray is brilliant musician and producer. He's wonderful to work with and has a deep understanding of music, technology, and humanity.
Interview with Ray Reich
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Indie pop album with new artist, mixes and vocal tuning/editing for various clients, song productions, Iyengar yoga, LoopLoft articles.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! Each serves its own unique purpose. Analog is great for creativity, digital is great for finishing.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love that I can make a living doing nothing but music. I also enjoy technology very much.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's fast and easy. It's actually a slow, tedious, painstaking process to get tracks perfect and "radio-ready". It's difficult to make something sound simple.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have a clear understanding of what you're after. It's perfectly fine to not be sure, but at least know that you aren't sure. The more you understand about what your goals are, the more quickly and easily I (or any provider) can help you reach them.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been studying music academically since I was 4, and have been teaching since I was 14 (also around the same time I started producing original tracks). I went to a conservatory program during high school, and a conservatory for college. I'm so grateful for the fact that Music is all I know, all I've ever done.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to collaborate with Ellie Goulding because she's an instrumentalist, and her voice is so unique, it would be a pleasure to work with.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie Pop.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Some of my favorite producers: Greg Kurstin, Skrillex, Benny Blanco, Max Martin Some of my favorite modern composers: Eric Whitacre Some of my favorite classical composers and performers: Pablo Casals, J.S. Bach, Jean Sibelius
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly produce music: - create tracks from scratch - help with songwriting (set music to topline) - play piano / keyboard / synth - help guide vocal parts during writing and recording (melody, harmonies, etc). I am regularly hired to tune & edit vocals, because I can do so at a very high quality, and very quickly. I also get hired to do vocal sessions for other producers, because I have a nice studio with great gear, and impeccable session organizational skills. I also get hired to mix tracks with both live, as well as electronic instruments.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: If we are on the same page about what it is you want, in the end you will be very happy.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are your goals, musically or otherwise? What is your budget and time frame? What are some references we can use as an aesthetic guide?
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Read my article: https://www.thelooploft.com/blogs/ryans-corner/6-mixing-mistakes-to-avoid
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My ears!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a very high degree of musicality.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Amazing vocal chain, Logic Pro, excellent speakers, and some synths.
