Session Drummer

Working with Garey is always a pleasure. Garey was my first call drummer at the studio where I worked. He listened to the midi drums, made his notes on the chart, cut the track, and added his own embellishments. One session comes to mind in which he played to sequenced tracks. After the first take, he came in the control room to listen back and even though it was dead on the click, he wanted another pass to help the drums sit better in the track and intentionally played slightly off the click! He was right and it helped the track. Garey can play any genre, is easy to work with and fast!

I have known Garey Williams for almost three decades. I've had the pleasure of working with him on my jazz recordings. I've also worked with him live. He is one of the most melodic and musical drummers around--he is just the best! Easy to work with, responsive, and knows how to "drive the bus"! Hire him if you want it done well!

Since moving to the Northwest in 2005 I have had the opportunity to play live and record with Garey Williams on numerous occasions. He always brings total professionalism and a thick groove to any musical situation. Being that I’m a Bass player the Drummer is utmost importance to me and Garey always delivers 110%!!
