I'm Andreas, a producer based in Sweden, focused on spaciousness and moods, no matter in which genre. I've been successfully collaborating with artists in Europe and the States, much thanks to the fact that I'm always seeking for future-proof-sounds, while still respecting retro vibes. Also, no sample based stuff, I only work with real instrus.
With works stretching from scores for TV/documentary to productions of award winning bands in genres stretching from psychedelic rock to alternative RnB, there's sufficient experience to see and follow the artist's vision to make your ideas into proper sounding productions.
Being a "technical guy" and being an artist myself, I can easily switch between being the “technician” an the “artist”, which enables a versatile and dynamic way to work together, without losing the plot of the artistic vision.
You can send me a voice memo or a polished mix - doesn’t matter to me- we’ll go over your ideas and what you want to achieve with the project, and I will follow you along the road until you’re happy with the end result. That's the only thing that matters at the end, a song that both parts can stand behind.

It was a pleasure to work with Andreas. He took my ideas and transformed them into something really special - I couldn't be happier! His approach was professional, but easy-going at the same time. I had no problems communicating with him, he was very responsive and helpful. It is clear to see that Andreas has a great passion for music and it translates to the quality of his work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and creative producer!
I am an independent Producer for XR and New Media. I have worked with Andreas on several projects over the years, but most recently brought him on board for an immersive VR project. He created an incredible soundscape that was used both in-headset and in the installation that the headset was placed in. He was a pleasure to work with, was able to interpret the brief and responded well to feedback. He was also very clear with limitations in the medium, but open to experimentation and was able to explain his thoughts and process in a way that was understandable for the client.
I work in the animation-field, making commercials, infographics and similar projects. I've worked with Andreas on several of these, and they have all turned out great! Working with Andreas, you can expect a lot of ideas and creativity, but also attentiveness to what your specific requirements are. Very professional and also helpful and friendly!
As an artist manager, industry consultant and music business educator, it's a privilege to endorse the work of Andreas. He has an incredible production ability to create cinematic soundscapes and ethereal dynamics throughout his work. He's proactive, engaged and a pleasure to work with. Whether it's your own work that you need to take to another level, or music for film, tv or commercials, Andreas is a A-list choice.
After working with Andreas on multiple projects I can only say that it's an honor to have worked with this undiscovered living legend. His passion for music resonates through every little detail of sound he creates. He is the kind of guy that makes you even more enthusiastic about your music and shows you the diversity of the musical spectrum.
I have worked close with Andreas many times over past years. An excellent producer, songwriter and musician.
Andreas is very good at creating dreamy and emotional ambience and synth work.
Also a very good guitarist with a spacy dream rock sound
As an Artist and a producer I find him very easy and open minded to work with
He is good at finding the artist own voice and follow that persons vision.
Andreas also uses top of the line analog synths and instruments that make his productions sound very real and high end.
I recommend Andreas to anyone who value production quality and concept
Interview with Andreas Montufar
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "How did you do that?!" my answer: -"Don't remember..." (I'm kidding)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It's always been music, in different form, since I was a little kid. Was a busy session musician prior to diving into production, and switched over to the studio because of the personal freedom that I feel in it. I'm a fish in the water here, and my task is to make the artist feel equally at home while we work together.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Honest communication is the key.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It varies so much, depending on the context...I'm just mostly trying to hear out what the artist is looking for, what they want, and adapt to that. For it to work everybody has to be comfortable, otherwise nothing will happen, so I'd say that is the first and foremost thing that happens before anything else is even mentioned. Then the rest is kind of happening naturally by itself.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm mixing the analog world with the digital world. For me the most important thing in the studio is to feel relaxed and at home as soon as you step through the door. Nice lightning emphasizing the mood of whatever I'm working on is a must. All instruments I have send/respond midi messages, or are fed in and out through busses to FX and into samplers/instruments filters etc, to have full flexibility in and out of the box.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Production / Beat making / Emphasizing a mood
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Different productions for various artists and a few singles for my own music.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: That question's getting old...whatever works for whoever that has whatever...know your signal flow and gain staging (!!!) properly in a digital environment and you can get equally far with vst's...with a wallet left at the end of the day...
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The creative part, and the vastness of possibilities that come with it. To never know for sure.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: 1. What are we aiming for style wise? 2. Could you give me 3-4 reference tracks that resonates with you? 3. What's our time frame?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A laptop, a portable windmill to produce electricity, a mic, and I guess a trusted apollo? Provided there's a vast ocean of vst plugins...(pun intended...)oh and 5th piece of gear: a pair of headphones.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: A mash-up, but I'm mostly going for the style that makes you feel something when you walk outside, headphones on. Or when you drive a car. You gotta feel it...! Yeah. that.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: MB comp is the sh*t
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Eddie Kramer, Kevin Parker, Nigel Godrich, Tchad Blake and many more
