Interview with Oxygen1um
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What type of work do you need? What is your vision of the sound? When you need your work to be done?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Gaming laptop, monitor headphones, microphone, Starlink, and a portable House with solar panel system (not a music gear but why not, LOL)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It all started since my cousin told to 11th old me about FL Studio. He was a hip-hop artist in his hometown. Since then I am totally dedicated myself to creating electronic music. In 2014 I did my first EDM tracks in demo version of FL Studio, making them within a single session - cause you can't reload them, ha!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Writing beats of different genres - from Indie Pop to Drum and Bass.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Do not hesitate to give examples of sound you want (to exclude further revisions). Render your tracks with correct placing - the whole track, not just clips! Do not hesitate to ask about progress (but do not disturb every hour or so). Be polite and tolerant.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: It is easy to do, it does not affect your health, it is not tire.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Skrillex would be the dream of the life, cause he brought to my life such bright sounds I never heard before which struck me beyond everything.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never struggle to achieve the result under the pressure of your own thoughts, either release it, or try it a bit later (I do not say "don't have deadlines" though). Let your ears rest - listen to your song tomorrow morning and you will hear what can be improved.
