Interview with Grigory Voskoboynik
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I get the sheet music and start recording the bass - it usually takes 3 hours to a few days, depending on the amount of work. I immerse myself in music while working on a track, it's very interesting!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Recording bass to a multitrack (Pro Tools, Studio One, Logic, Reaper) using the customer's sheets or creating a new one. Editing and correcting already recorded bass track - correcting in time, intonation and style. Creating bass lines using VST instruments. Also composing music for movies and series.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Mac and Pc. Studio One, Avid Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic. Presonus Quandum 2424 thunderbolt audio with 24/196. Preams and processing - ART Pro VLA 2, Symetrix 528 E. TC Electonic cabinet and amplifire. Microphones for doublebass - Neumann TLM 103, Neumann M 147 Tube, Sontronics Orpheus , K&K and Fishman. Pickups for doublebass - Underwood, Fishman, Headway, David Gage soundclip.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I do both classical and entertainment music, it gives me the opportunity to think more creatively. I add to each track the beauty and depth of classical music, or to classical music - the rhythm and drive of jazz or soul. Perhaps for someone it is necessary and new.
