Niche Mixing has over 20 years of experience in writing, recording, producing, and playing music of all styles. Our understanding of all aspects of music comes from formal education, natural talent, and practical experience.
My passion for music start in my early teens and developed quickly so by the time I recorded my first album my 18 I had learned to play piano, drums/percussion, guitar, bass guitar, and trumpet. I started writing music on an old Casio keyboard and had written dozens of songs by the time I recorded my first LP. In my early 20s I tuned down opportunities to go on tour and be signed to pursue my music education and have a family.
Academically, I have a bachelors degree in music composition and a masters degree music technology. My primary instrument was the piano in school where I was awarded 2 piano scholarships and a prestigious music composition scholarship. I also mandated a near 4.0 GPA in all music classes including Music theory, instrumentation, music arranging, music history, sound design, and music composition.
Practical, I've written countless songs and recorded 2 LPs of my own music and produced more songs for other artist. I have been mixing and mastering music for the last 15 years and recording music much long then that. As an example, at 14 years old I was in the high school music lab every afternoon using the MIDI sequencer Master Tracks Pro and Finale on an old Mac running OS 7 instead of doing what typical teenagers do. Music is infused in my DNA; it is a part of me.
