DEJO on SoundBetter

I'm a swedish multi-platinum awarded songwriter & producer, with millions of records sold worldwide and no.1 hit songs in Japan. I'm also the CEO of Eleven B Studios which is a record label & publishing company.

With more than 1 million sold records worldwide, multiple gold & platinum awards and 15 years at the highest level in the music industry, you can expect the result to be nothing but perfect!

I've been fortunate to work with some of the very best artists, songwriters & producers on this planet. My main genres are rock & pop but the last years most focus has been on K-Pop & J-Pop. This means a lot more influences from both R&B, Trap and Hip Hop.I've also won album of the year in Sweden in the genre "dansband", and worked together with ethno-pop & country artists.

I love taking on new challenges and will gladly work with genres I've never done before.

Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

I've had the pleasure to work with Dejo several times on different projects! What an extraordinary human being and musician he is. His skills as a producer and mixing/mastering engineer is way above his pay grade and when I need a second opinion on a project I'm always spoiled to use his pair of golden ears! He is the perfect mix between true passion and determination when you wanna bring that extra pro vibe into your music project.
If I could give this guy an extra star I definitely would!

Once you have worked with this guy you will never let him go.
It’s almost impossible to fairly describe this talented human being but if I had to I would say if you mix the kindest/craziest person you know with one of the best musical ears and creativity you’ll get Dejo!
Nothing gets ever boring with this guy and he always deliver top notch quality and even some crazy high singing notes when the feeling is there!;D

I’m so honored to have been working with him and I can’t wait until next time!

Dejo .... Dejo Anderson ...I've had a handful of fine producers from all over the world but NO one comes close to what Dejo brought to my music. Now he's my go-to guy ....he gets the essential colors of the sound I want, and he's always up on the latest techniques for music production ..no score card has enough stars to properly rave about Dejo ... he's sensational.

Interview with DEJO

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I have to say the current project I'm working on right now (Broadway Musical). I'm arranging, producing and recording songs that have so much potential, but the orignal demos were so far away from making the songs justice. It's extremely challenging but I'm really proud over what we've acheived so far!

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: I've been working with both Sophie Hanson and Richard Alex. They are amazing!

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: That I treat all projects equal, and always do my very best. Regardless of budget or genre.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: The creative process. To take something RAW and make it sound the way you hear it in your head. It's a very rewarding experience.

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: That I only do JPOP & KPOP haha.. I grew up in Sweden during the 80's & 90's, and I mostly listened and played rock (Europe, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, AC/DC, Metallica etc). On top of that, both of my parents were full time musicians and my dad played in a "Dance band", which is a unique Swedish genre pretty similar to country. So I've been surrounded by tons of different genres, and this has given me a huge musical understanding and wide arsenal of tools & knowledge.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Buy a crappy pair of speakars as a supplement to your "good" ones. If your mix sounds good in both speakers, you're on the right track.

  13. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  14. A: Pre production of an upcoming Broadway musical and as always songwriting & producing for the Japanese & Korean market.

  15. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  16. A: Digital, because it's more mobile and saves everyone a lot of time.

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: Laptop, Headphones, UA Apollo Twin, Acoustic Guitar, Midikeyboard

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I grew up in a house where both parents were musicians and we had a recording studio in the garage. I started playing around with sounds and instruments as a kid in that studio and eventually learned how to record in Cubase. I've been working full-time as a musician/songwriter/producer my entire adult life, so more than 15 years now.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: High energy. I always aim to get the most out of every song in terms of energy and "vibe".

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: Ola Salo. He's a musical genious and I'm sure we'd be very compatible in the studio.

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: J-POP & K-POP

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: My musical ear and experience of multiple genres

  29. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  30. A: TOTO! Amazing musicians and fantastic songs! I also love everything that Bob Clearmountain & Dan Huff has produced.

  31. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  32. A: I'm a multi-instrumentalist and singer and mostly do full productions where I create songs from scratch and then mix and master them.
