Professional studio recording & mix engineer for the past 20 years. Artists I've worked for and done sessions with incl Michael Jackson, Sheryl Crow, Will.i.am, Akon, RedOne, Cam Cole, Neil Cowley ++ I am the in-house mix & recording engineer at 2Seas Studio - a beautiful sounding one of a kind mix & production facility (72 Ch SSL Duality Console)
My career began as an asst. engineer at Metropolis Studios, London before going on to work exclusively for artists signed to 2Seas Records. We constructed a unique music production & mix facility called 2Seas Studio which over the years has hosted many music icons.
I have worked with a diverse range of artists and specialize in pop & indie but am equally comfortable working on EDM, R&B, hip hop, folk and rock projects.

Endorse Adrian AugustinPlain and simple: Adrian is the in-house engineer of the most state-of-the-art recording facility in the country, and most probably in the whole Middle East. His work at Metropolis in London, with Michael Jackson, and various popular recording artists (including the incredible 2seas sessions series) speaks for itself. So it's needless to say that when we recorded my first EP in 2Seas studio, I was in awe of how professional and creative the whole process was. The recordings and mixes were beyond what I could have imagined. His work on my track "The Monsoon" still gives me chills.
In short, Adrian is amazing and fun to work with and organized! I've worked with Adrian on a few projects with various setups and it was always a pleasure. Not only does he know what he's doing, but he's also a wonderful person to work with. Learned a lot from Adrian and looking forward to more opportunities to work with him.
I worked with him for 16 years and in every project he surprises me with great results and valuable information. He knows exactly what I want and this makes working with him the utmost comfort.
Adrian is amazing, we have done several jobs with now and as always the results are top notch.
Interview with Adrian Augustin
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We’re lucky enough to have a great setup at 2Seas. The studio revolves around a 72 channel SSL Duality analog console and an array of monitoring - BOXER T-3’s, Yamaha NS-10, KRK 9000B (rare), Genelec 1034,1032A, 1037C, Adams, Dynaudio. Our selection of outboard gear represents our wishlist over the years and I predominantly use outboard gear with some in the box processing during the mixing stages.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The highlight of my career will always be working exclusively for Michael Jackson as a member of his studio production team. It was an amazing time with a legendary team of producers, songwriters and musicians.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I've been a diehard Smashing Pumpkins fan since the beginning of time!! Production philosophies of multi-award winning mix & recording engineers Bill Bottrell, Mick Guzauski, Tom Elmhurst, Matt Howe have all been inspirational through the different stages of my career. Whenever I'm fortunate enough to work with musicians that blow my mind such as Dave Levita - (Alanis Morissette, Stevie Nicks, Lana Del Rey, Ben Platt, Morissey, Danny Elfman), Neil Cowley - (Adele, Birdy, Emily Sandé, Stereophonics), Melvin Duffy - (Mark Knopfler, Tina Turner, UB40, First Aid Kit), José Neto - (Steve Winwood, Harry Belafonte, George Benson), its a very special feeling.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm mixing a classic soul album that has great feel, production & musicians. Besides that I'm working continuously on our music catalogue and collaborating with songwriters / producers on songs to be placed. The process is part of my daily workflow which also involves dealing with licensing and music clearances.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Every song is different from the one before it - I'm a gear junkie so seeing the difference a piece of gear makes to the mix is very satisfying.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Help me understand the energy you’re trying to make the listener feel.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When doing mixdowns, understanding the sound of the people I'm working with is where I begin. Client input at this point goes a long way. I also try to get a feel of the record by listening to a rough mix supplied (or that I create) a few times, making notes and dropping markers as I go along. From then on, it’s about applying the right processing & balancing to achieve the finished mix.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Besides being the in-house recording / mix engineer & producer at 2Seas Studio, I also liaise workflows and planning with clients for projects that sometimes span many months when writing and producing is part of the session.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Chandler TG12345 Curve Bender (without a doubt), Chandler TG1, dBX 160, Bricasti M7 Reverb, Roland Space Echo RE-201
