David Simpson is an mix engineer from Scotland, currently based in London. His work includes projects with Clean Bandit, MNEK, Liam Gallagher, Dua Lipa and Jordan Mackampa to name a few.
Working both remotely and out of The Crypt Studio in North London, David's mix work has seen placements on Spotify's New Music Friday playlists (UK and Netherlands), Netflix, BBC Introducing, Levi's "Your Voice Your Way" campaign and US Department of Health.
David has engineered sessions for some of the UK's top performers as well as pursuing projects with independent artists. Specialising in pop/alt-pop, indie and rock, David enjoys working closely with artists using a mixture of live and synthetic instruments.
One of just a handful of engineers mixing in Sony 360RA, an immersive new way to listen to music along with projects in Dolby Atmos. Some recent projects mixed in this format include Dua Lipa, Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds, Clean Bandit & Lianne La Havas. David is also an approved UMG (Universal Music Group) Dolby Atmos mixer.
Alongside his usual work, David has also teamed up with Youth Music Charity and Levi's to offer young musicians and artists recording experience.
