Interview with Michael Buckley

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Working on Cosmoxie's album was an absolute blast. I played all the guitar and bass tracks and also wrote the lyrics. All songs were co-wrote with Derby who is an absolute pleasure to work with. We built the whole thing from the ground up and it sounds amazing!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes! Derby. He is a very experienced sound engineer/producer, not to mention a great singer, percussionist and songwriter with many credits.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog all the way! Digital serves a purpose but analog is what puts the human touch on it.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I always give 100%. There's nothing greater than the gift of music. Being able to play on other people's projects is a huge responsibility and I take it very seriously.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Respect the song! I pride myself in playing what the song needs. As guitarists we tend to overplay a lot so I really try to be wary of that and compliment the song rather than get carried away.
