Cellist of the indie rock group The Polyphonic Spree and current cellist of Hamilton Philip Tour. Since 2005, I have worked consistently as a session cellist (in studio and remote recording) for recording engineers John Congleton, Matt Pence, Rick Nelson, Robert Ellis, Josh Block, McKenzie Smith, Eric Delegard, Lindsay Graham and Chris Bell.
In addition to being the cellist for The Polyphonic Spree and Hamilton National Tour(Philip Tour), I have worked as an orchestral and commercial music freelancer since 1996. A large portion of that has been composition and session work.
I am comfortable working in Finale (notation software) and recording in Logic Pro X. I am happy to record cello parts that you have written for me or I can compose one should you need a cello part, small or large string ensemble arrangement, or a full orchestral arrangement written.
I have a team of exceptional musicians that I track with in person and remotely or we can work with yours. Whatever you are most comfortable with.

Buffi is an excellent collaborator and cellist, who will add layers and depth to your track. Great communication throughout and the finished product is of very high quality. Highly recommend.
Hire Buffi! Best of the best! I'm lucky to have worked with her on a number of occasions over the years, recording string parts for various albums and films. Great player, great arranger, great collaborator...what more could I ask for? (nothing) - Daniel Hart, composer/performer
If you want strings on your project, Buffi is who you call. She will write parts, charts, arrange players and run the session. The results are incredible, the experience always smooth and professional.
I'm a music producer in Fort Worth, TX and have worked with Buffi on many projects. Buffi is an absolute pleasure to make music with. Her arranging work is incredible, and in addition she is adept at organizing ensembles and capturing performances at a really high level. I can't recommend her work enough.
Buffi’s genius is surpassed only by her authenticity. This authenticity is exemplified by the passion with which she imbues her art, which I’ve encountered in the form of her string arranging. Listening to her arrangements is like going on a journey to the depths of the music’s soul. My experience is that she knows exactly where to paint her sounds and knows exactly which colors to use. Her broad musical background was apparent in the stylistic and artistic choices that she employed.
Buffi Jacob's is the consummate professional, whether writing or playing or simply creating on the fly. In more than 20 years I have never had less thana a most satisfying musical experience with her.
I’m a professional podcaster (the History That Doesn’t Suck Podcast), and Buffi is the cellist in my theme song’s remastered version (new arrangement). She helped take my sound to a whole new level. Her performance was absolutely brilliant!
I’ve been working with Buffi for the past 25 years. She brings nothing but absolute professionalism to every project she is involved in. Not only will she deliver exactly what you need by her own natural instincts, but she is always open to suggestions.
