My motto is #StrictlyGoodMusic! I am a music producer, mixing and mastering engineer. I have worked with seasoned Kenyan talents the likes of Kipsang, Ayrosh and Serro. My network includes excellent producers such as Waithaka Ent., Mutoriah and Giggz. One of my recent notable audio post production credits is the 2020 album Kuwe by Serro.
I offer audio production services through my boutique recording studio, Tawala Beats. I undertake song writing, composing and arrangement, recording, mixing and mastering services, the last two of which I specialize in. I have been producing music since 2007 and specialized in mixing and mastering since 2014.

Interview with Tawala Beats
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. It's more flexible.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started recording myself at 13 back in 2002 and first went to a recording studio armed with my demos in 2007. The feedback I received pivoted me into production in that studio as an intern. I handled my first project in 2009 and have been doing that to date. Along the way I started specializing in post-production in 2014 after I noticed a gap in the industry in Nairobi.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Garbage in garbage out
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My approach is project-specific. I will start with a brief to understand the creative goals for the project and
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work out of a home studio. The room is treated with acoustic panels which creatives use as "guest books". I work mainly "in the box" using DSP plugins in Pro Tools.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I admire the work by SARZ, Klasszik in production and Serban Ghenea and Nicholas Di Lorenzo in post-production.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most times I do post-production, that is mixing and mastering. I also do quite a lot of audio recording for other producers and produce songs for a few musicians.
