I have been a recording artist for fifteen years. I have three records currently out and a fourth coming in 2017. In addition to writing and singing I also play guitar, piano, synth, bass and am fluent with Logic Pro for recording, producing, mixing, arranging and drum programming.

My strength is songwriting and arranging. I am also a strong singer in the high baritone range. I am best at alternative or indie rock oriented genres. I'm probably not the first choice for singing a pop vocal and there seem to be a lot of artists doing that on here already anyway.
My Soundcloud which is linked below has an album sampler of my new record currently streaming. I played everything on this (except the drums which were programmed by myself or played by my drummer) and I mixed it as well. Hopefully that speaks to my tastes and ability more than anything I can say here.

Interview with Sherman Baker

What type of music do you usually work on?
What are you working on at the moment?
My current electronic project Dahlia Fiend
Analog or digital and why?
Digital but I think this argument is vastly over rated. For roots music I could see why some might prefer analog or tape (especially for drums) but really what people respond to is the performance, the mic placement and the song itself. The analog or tape argument is not relevant to the listener who these days is probably streaming the music on a computer anyway!
What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
I started performing and recording fifteen years ago.
How would you describe your style?
Which artist would you like to work with and why?
Brian Eno....is he on soundbetter? hahah
Can you share one music production tip?
Great sounds, fidelity etc are useless if the emotion, feel and vibe is not in the performance. Also auto tune is lame.
What's your strongest skill?
I have my own sound and my own voice as a singer, musician and songwriter. My creativity is my strength.
Tell us about your studio setup.
Pretty basic but it gets the job done. I work in Logic Pro. I record with a basic mic setup for guitar or vocals and use midi for synths, piano etc.
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
As a singer-songwriter I like David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Elliott Smith in particular. As a producer I like Aphex Twin and Radiohead a lot!
