Marty is an extremely personal and professional producer. He definitely helped me reach new heights as a young artist. Responds quickly, works hard, and is super knowledgeable. 10?10 would buy again

Interview with Marty of Social Club Misfits

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I released my 2nd solo Ep Marty for President 2 recently and I was able to produce about 75% of it. Also I have a band called "Social Club Misfits" and i was able to produce our last single which was huge for me. I started producing about 4 years ago and my goal was to create my own music without having to hire other producers, and i did it.

  3. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  4. A: Physician's Desk Reference...hollowed out, inside: waterproof matches, iodine tablets, beet seeds, protein bars, NASA blanket, and, in case I get bored, Harry Potter and Sorcerer's Stone. No, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I started making music around 2011- i worked a corporate Job and my first project was #1 on iTunes and billboard so i figured that wasn't normal. From there i was independent for 5 years and signed with Captiol records in 2017. Since then ive toured around the world, had music on almost every TV network, and i still continue to work at it everyday.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: Diverse.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: I would of loved to work with Prince, one of my close friends worked with him for 15 years and the amount of creativity and genius he put into every part of his brand was incredible.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Buy a good chair- your back will thank you.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: a combination of rap and pop is what i love to create but i can do anything from acoustic ideas to bangers.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: My strongest skill would most likely be my writing but if im being completely honest i love producing. I started producing because i love the technical side of music.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: I love writing and making an idea from scratch. I love melodies and creating beats that surpass the trends. ive been an artist for 10 years, i know what works on stage and what doesn't. i want the song i create to sound good whether in the car or on stage with 10k fans.

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: It depends, sometimes it starts with a simple guitar strum, sometimes it is an melody idea i got while driving. I try not to put boxes on the process as long as we go where we need to.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: I used to have a studio with gear everywhere but it was for show. I like the basic essentials, Piano, Apollo Twin, Neumann, MPC, and my Rok-it 5s and my Mac.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: I am inspired by Mac Miller, Joji, Tyler the creator...I love artists that genre bend.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: I try to bring an artists musical vision to life, No matter how big or new the artist is. You will always get my best work. Production and songwriting is my strongest skill.
