Rafael did an excellent job creating a solo for my fusion instrumental. He quickly got the concept and gave me examples to pick from and created files which easily fit into my mix. I would highly recommend him and would use him again for my projects.

I needed a piano track with haste and quality and became surprised beyond expectations on time. Looking forward to work again with Evora.

Interview with Rafael Evora

  1. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  2. A: It depends on what you are looking for. I can put things down the way you have them in your head, or can twist the idea, like for example re-harmonize everything to take the song to another place. There are infinite ways to build everything up having a melody as a starting point.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: Which is the general and final product that you have in mind? Is there a specific known track I can listen to that has a similar sound or style to what you have in your head?

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I´ve been doing this for 12 years now. Started playing drums since I was a kid, later moved on to the guitar and got interested in harmony so I finally ended up learning piano. My musical education is a hybrid of classical and popular music.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: Pop, Fusion, Funk, Jazz, Soul, Latin, Electronic and Soundtrack

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: I do most of my production and programing in my home personal studio. For final mixing and mastering as well as heavy top of the line results and real piano recordings I have access to vary fully equipped professional music studios.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: Producing, composing, keyboard playing.

  13. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  14. A: I most commonly record piano or keyboard tracks as a session pianist. I also make musical arrangements and compositions for a variety of styles and can take the charge of a full musical production from scratch.

  15. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  16. A: I´m finishing some productions for a band for whom I made arrangements, recorded keyboards and carry the weight of most of the entire production.

  17. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  18. A: Top of the line quality.

  19. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  20. A: I love music
