I'm Loris, music enthusiast from the duo Angara -with releases on Monstercat (Silk), Enhanced Music (Colorize), Electro Posé (Inside Records), Anjunabeats and Armada Music (Subjekt).
I've been spending the last 7 years of my life practicing my Producing/Mixing and Mastering skills right down to the tiniest detail for both my project Angara and other artists/projects.
I used to study music theory in the conservatoire as well as performing Bassoon in the youth orchestra of my home city. I will always favor the story, emotions and energy you want to communicate by enhancing them while keeping all the technical stuff right on point.
I'm also a DJ specialized in Electronic Music and more precisely in genres that contains "House" in it (Progressive, Chill, Deep, Melodic,Organic, Pop, Tech..) but also in Downtempo, Electronica and all kind of Techno.

Interview with Loris (Angara)
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: - Helping other producers reach their goals with Producing/Mixing/Mastering services. - Finishing tracks and live act for my new solo project and my rock band. - Keeping the releases clean and steady with Angara
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Can you tell me the story behind your track ? - What are your influences for this project ? - Have you got any track references to recommend ? - What are your goals ?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Try several different producers or engineers until you find the one who understand your music best. I believe you can have the best skilled engineer in the world, if the feeling between the creative minds is not there, the final result will suffer from it.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Getting the Kick and the Bass working perfectly well together first. Once you get that done, the rest come much more easily with this kind of music. Other big tip is to always keeping references in hand and save your changes really often so you can check if your changes did improve or actually deteriorated the global feeling of the track.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Sharp percussions ; grit and character ; controlled and heavy low-end, wide and deep atmospheres
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm good at finishing tracks. I'm honest, patient, tenacious and perfectionist for it.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Definitely need both hand-in-hand. The versatility and never-ending options that the Digital world offers you. The character, randomness and almost impossible-to-reproduce feel that the Analog world gives you.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Receiving the tracks and instructions from the client. Listening to the track two times, one time with a creative perspective, the second-one with a technician one. Starting to structure and color-grouping tracks depending on their purpose in the track. I then work on every sounds and sections of the song, both mid and side, looking for improvement in the dynamics, frequency ranges, character/grit. I will then expand the perceived stereo while making certain no phase correlation problems will occur. I'm looking for liveliness but also control. Take a break, listening to it again with fresh ears and adjust. Done !
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Simply doing my total best to make them happy with the results, exactly like If I were doing it for my own projects. Keeping all their intentions and emotions in place and bring all these ideas to the next step.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The never-ending learning process. Every projects, every hours and reflexions give you space to improve (if you really want to and do the sacrifices for it). You're never over with that and never will be, crazy powerful stuff !
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: There is so many of them ! But if you fancy these artists : 16BL, Adriatique, Amtrac, Andhim, Ben Bohmer, Bicep, Bonobo, CRi, Fakear, French 79, Fritz & Paul Kalkbrenner, Gallago, GHEIST, Grandbrothers, Hot Since 82, Icarus, Jan Blomqvist, Jerro, Joachim Pastor, Jones Meadow, Jon Hopkins, Kiasmos, Kidnap, Klangkarussell, Lane 8, Matthew Dekay, Moderat, Monkey Safari, Nora En Pure, NTO, Nu, Rezident, Solomun, Tor, Tourist, TSHA, Tycho, Undercatt... we're likely to be on the same page :)
