Performer of the 20-stringed Indian slide guitar, classically trained in Hindustani ragas with a background in popular music styles. Played for 20k people at the 2019 Kumbh Mela, music featured on Radio New Zealand, NPR and BBC Introducing and the only American playing Indian classical music on this instrument on top stages throughout India.
I’m offering Indian slide guitar tracks for your production. This is a uniquely versatile instrument that combines the sounds of sitar, guitar and the human voice; deeply rich with harmonic overtones and emotive feeling. This instrument is great for providing interesting solo sections in rock, blues, Americana, and jazz, hooks in electronic music along with ambient, focus-enhancing sounds for meditation and mindful music.
I have a simple home studio to record my tracks. I use a large diaphragm condenser microphone to capture the overall resonance of the instrument.
I can also offer production services and consultation in the field of North Indian classical music and fusion.

Interview with Joel Veena
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most commonly clients contact me to provide additional harmonic layers and supporting textures to their tracks. They send me a mix that is close to finished and I play through, adding sweeps of my sympathetic strings, harmonics, and melody support. Others have left a space for an instrumental solo that they would like me to improvise.
