Professional quality work and service. Blue Glass brought exactly the expertise and attention to detail required for my project; good knowledge of melody and rhythm and great aesthetic sense. Communication was easy and professional. I highly recommend Blue Glass Production and plan on working with them again; this is better quality work than some producers charging 3 times as much.

Interview with Blue Glass Production
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: It varies from Hip-Hop/R&B to Psychedelic Pop to Synthwave to Trip-Hop/Electronica.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: If I have been asked to do a full track I will first request references to the sound/genre which the client desires. Then I will do a basic draft of the type of beat. From there the client guides me through the changes they would like to the different parts of the track (drums, bass, leads, keys etc). Once they are happy with the arrangement, we will repeat this process for the mix (if a mix has been requested).
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It has been 14 years since I started making music. I began making simple beats and gradually learned to play guitar and then bass. I interned in a recording studio for 4 years and then studied audio engineering at Cape Audio College for another 3 years.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Damon Albarn because, in my humble opinion, he is one of the most creative and versatile musicians/songwriters of his era and has an elegant style when it comes to songwriting. He produces music than touches on many different genres that are all unmistakably his style.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have references? What other pieces of music would you like your track to be put in playlist with? How would you like the music to feel and what images/scenes play out in your mind when you imagine listening to the music? How should the production be sonically and what sort of tone do you desire? Soft, aggressive, warm, bright etc. How do you want the music to evolve/progress. What sort of journey are we going on here?
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: A friendly, courteous, honest, patient and punctual experience working with me :-)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: It will be a first draft pick lol. I am very prompt when it comes to schedules and deadlines so speed is not a concern. People tend to think, however, that when they request a song or a production that it will come back after the first draft being exactly the way they imagined. Getting the right product depends on communication of ideas and desires for the direction of the music. It will take some sculpting to get exactly what you're looking for and we will work together to bring it to life.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Groove, mellow timbres and harmonic layers. I'm also skilled at sound design and programming ambient and evolving synth pads.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Connecting with others, creating art together and communicating emotion through music and sound.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, because nothing exists in isolation and one should use all of the available tools at one's disposal to create something unique and interesting. If it suits the sound, it doesn't matter if it's analog or digital.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Smooth, groovy, relaxing, meditative and psychedelic.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Hip-Hop Beat production, editing, synth programming, vocal production and mixing.
