I am a calm and focused acoustic and electro harpist, comfortable in classical, hip hop, folk and improvisation. I read charts and sheet music fluently and love coming up with my own ideas. I co-write songs with my band Bentu and have contributed harp to tracks by Ruti, Deacon, Tertia May, Ranagri, Subculture, Kalaido, Kate Curran and many more.
I record in my home studio with paired Rode NT5 mics. I am confident and experienced in production; recording and editing tracks is a pleasure and I use the latest version of Presonus Studio One. I will supply dry takes to you, unless otherwise requested. If a natural church acoustic is required for a special project, I can record in my local church. I live near Cambridge in the UK, easily accessible for my work in London, the Midlands, the north of England and of course at home! I record my harp using a pair of Rode NT5s and I usually place one fairly high, to catch the brightness and fast finger work in the upper register, and the other mic twice as far away and directly in front of the harp, angled towards the soundboard, getting the depth of the bass and warm overall sound, but without too much of the room. I am happy to experiment with different mic placement!
