Interview with Max M. Svendsen

  1. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  2. A: My Music cross-genre knowedge, almost 2 decades of study and practice, and a lot of attention and care for the project in question.

  3. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  4. A: Composition and Sound Design for Advertisments, Promo Videos, Explainer Clips and Shorts.

  5. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  6. A: Anouar Brahem, Jeff Russo, Max Richter, Mulatu Astatke, Valentin Stip, Kiasmos

  8. A: Any kind of genres, really.

  10. A: Don´t wait on inspiration, that´s a Luxury that in 90% of the cases you can´t afford.

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: If they have a clear vision on what the music they require should express/underline/highlight.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: There are a lot. One i come across very often though is the difficulty to imagine the workload behind a full music production, most people think it´s done in half a day. Which you often have to do, due to deadlines.

  15. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  16. A: "Cost?"

  22. A: Music and Sound Design for an Online Shop Ad

  23. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  24. A: Both in theory, Digital in practice because most of the times you don´t have the time for analog. You want and need immediate recall of all the settings everytime you open a project.
