Faerie is a fluttering indie-pop manifestation of Christine Lam’s daydreams and fantasies. Her music is set in danceable grooves layered with dreamy synths and lyrics filled with wonder and escapism. Growing up in a New York household filled with music, Faerie taught herself how to play guitar and piano. She eventually moved to vocal training for 12 years to help express the floating melodies in her mind.
She graduated with a BA in Arts Administration (Music Concentration) and fully embodied the essence of Faerie. Her influences include artists such as Bleachers, Lorde, Harry Styles, Maggie Rogers, The Marias, Regina Spektor, and Christine and the Queens. Soon after, she released her debut single, “Fever Dream,” with Canadian producer, Jonathan Atkins (wavcat) followed by her debut EP, 2am, in 2021.
At 24, Faerie has been received by EARMILK, The Wild Honey Pie, and Keep Walking Music. She plans on continuing to explore the fleeting universe of Faerie, learning more about and engaging with the music industry as she goes.

Interview with Faerie
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try my best to bring life to a song with the right amount of emotion and strong storytelling. I value collaboration and take every minor and major piece of feedback seriously in order to fulfill my client's vision. I will do my best to contribute any vocal, mixing, or composition feedback/suggestions to bring your track to 100%.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: The client will usually pitch their idea (vision, influences, description of how the vox should sound like, etc.), send me the track, and I would record a free draft with my vox. Then I would send the draft over to make sure the client thinks my vox fits well with the track. If everything is good, I'll draft a contract and usually ask for a 30% deposit.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Everything is recorded in my little bedroom studio. I have an isolation shield when recording.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love studying singers and songwriters like Edith Piaf, Regina Spektor, AURORA, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, and Lorde.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually work with producers who need a female vocalist, songwriter, or both. They usually prepare a demo of the track or the finished track for me to write/record over. Everything is done virtually via email and G Suite.
