Rory Childs on SoundBetter

Being a Melodic Dubstep and Cinematic Bass producer myself, I have had extensive experience in crafting bright and impactful productions, mixes and masters. I am, however not only proficient in those genres, I have had experience and extensive training in mixing and mastering a wide variety of styles of music.

After having been a producer for several years, I went into studying the art of recording, mixing, mastering and sound design amongst the veterans of the electronic music world and excelled.

I usually work with electronic music but have been trained for and have had experience within the more acoustic genres, including string quartets.
I have also been trained and have had experience in sound design for video games and adverts.

I am open to working with restrictive budgets, within reason.
I am offering free unlimited revisions until funding is released (as long as we aren't back tracking between versions).

Rory was a pleasure to work with. I gave him a Synthwave track and he was thorough with making sure what I provided him was the best quality it can be. I asked for a mix and master within a certain deadline and provided both before the deadline and ensured I was happy with the mix. He went back and made changes before he continued with the master which turned out perfect. Extremely professional and would recommend him highly to anyone.

Interview with Rory Childs

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Austin Leeds, I have worked with him on one of my own projects which is unreleased at the minute but I couldn't be happier with the outcome of the Mastered track he provided.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Usually I would firstly want to exchange reference tracks for a general idea of where the track could end up sonically and then find out a bit more about the track, if there is a story behind it or a specific focal point wanted for the song for example.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Allowing a new set of ears to work on a track of yours can give you a fresh outlook on a piece of work. Working solo on a track from start to finish is possible but if that process has been strung out for a while, chances are that you're not listening to it the same way you used to.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Bright and detailed while still preserving a punchy low end.
