Liberated Studios on SoundBetter

We are a world class recording, mixing and mastering facility in Palm Beach County, Florida. Our A Room is built around a custom Neve V66 console and our B Room houses an SSL 8000 G/B G Series console. Our mastering suite consists of mainly Prism Sound Maselec Gear. We have recorded, mixed and mastered multi platinum and gold selling records.

Located on an equestrian ranch just minutes outside of West Palm Beach, Liberated Studios provides a very peaceful backdrop for the creative process. Built in what was originally the guesthouse on the property, the 1500 square foot building now encompasses 2 studios, a live tracking room, a kitchenette, and lounge. Patrons also have access to the large swimming pool and sauna just outside the doors of Studio A. Liberated Studios is owned by and the brainchild of Platinum Selling/Video Music Award winning producer Ian Carey. Ian has worked in the music industry since the late 90s and has done production work for all 7 of the major recording labels. During his career he has been involved in the sale over over 5 million records and his productions have racked up over 100 million views on YouTube. He has collaborated, produced and remixed records for Snoop Dogg, Timbaland, Ray J, Afrojack, Kardinall Offishall, Katy Perry and others. As an engineer he has mixed and mastered countless hit records of all genres, mainly electronica, hip hop, pop and indie rock. Ian has worked with closely and trained his team of engineers so you can feel confident in the outcome of any recording session. Much work and thought has gone into the design of the studio with much of the gear being sourced from across the country and across the world. We pride ourselves in only using the highest gra

Ian is a tremendous engineer, and he and his wife form a collaborative team that really knows what it takes to give awesome customer service. Interview with Liberated Studios

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: Our 2 full time engineers have been in the music business since the mid 90s. Our 2 Junior engineers are graduates of SAE and Full Sail Recording Schools.

  3. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  4. A: Take your time and make sure everything is perfect. And for performers going to a studio, our number one tip is to make sure you have the material down pat, this makes a great recording and saves everyone time.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: A combination of both for sure, doing a mix through an analog console is so much more clear and separated than doing a digital bounce, that is the most important use of analog gear, summing in the analog domain on a legendary console.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: We will give you what you are looking for. We guarantee it, if you can provide us with clear communication and examples of what you want we can accomplish anything!!

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: That you don't need a good analog based studio to get a professional sound. This is absolutely false, in order to get a sound that translates across many mediums from the grocery store PA system to your car stereo, a great room with great monitoring and great gear is needed. Only so much can be done on a laptop or in a project studio. The final stages should be left to a good studio with great gear and experienced engineers.

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: Have your ideas together and clearly explain what you are looking for, we are very good at our jobs, but we are not mind readers.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: We do a range of music, probably 40 rap/hip hop 20% EDM 20% Rock and the remaining 10% of our work has ranged from Latin to Opera to Classical Piano and beyond..

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: Our specialties are definitely the mix and master stage. Of course we do tracking and production, but our real art is the mix and master.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: We have over 15 years of experience in the professional studio world, that experience, great engineers and some of the best recording gear in existence is what makes our sound special.

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: This depends at what point of the project we come in. We are capable of starting from the beginning with production and tracking right through to the mastering stage.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: We have 2 main rooms, and a 3rd production room. Studio A is based around a Neve V66 console and Studio B is based around an SSL G Series 8000 console.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: We pull inspiration from many places, and across many genres.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: Recording, Mixing, Production and Mastering.
