Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on all genres. Hip/Rap, Pop, R&B, Afrobeats and everything in between. Be sure to listen to the sample audio in my profile to hear different genres and styles!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Melodies. Bounce. Groove. Funk. Hard hitting drums. Bass/808's that hit. I try to bring a vibe to every song I produce.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to get in, chat with the artist about their day or how they've been doing in general. Then ask what kind of song they want to make. I usually start with either the drums, sample, or synth/keyboard sounds. Then I find the right bass tones and tie in all the other elements to provide that HIT for the artist.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home studio set up. Yamaha HS5 Speakers, Scarlett 2i2 interface, Logic Pro x on a 2020 Macbook Pro 16gb Ram, Fender Stratocaster, D'angelico Bass.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I like a lot of everything. Everything from Metallica to Young Thug to Robert Glasper. For production, Timbaland is a big influence for me. He is responsible for having a lot of "eras" with a lot of the artists he works with. I aspire to do the same with the artists that I work with.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I have experience with all genres of music, but the most common for me are Rap/Hip-Hop, Pop, and R&B tracks. I can play any and all genres on bass as well!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as clear as you can and as specific as possible! The more details I have the better.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, audio interface, bass, guitar, and speakers
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Over 13 years! I been grinding!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Denzel Curry. I got some hard shit they could get behind. Lizzo. I feel like we could get something crazzzzzy going. Avenged Sevenfold cuz I wanna bring mesh the best of our worlds.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Be yourself ! And pay attention to levels. I like to mix as I go so by the end of the session, the artist can feel as confident as possible about the song.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Providing good energy. As well as making the beat/song sound at a professional level.
