My name is Shaun Ezrol. I studied Music Production & Engineering along with guitar at Berklee College of Music. I then spent two years as an assistant engineer to Howard Benson, followed by two years at NRG Recording and as mix assistant to Jay Baumgardner. I am a producer/engineer/mixer with a strong focus on working with bands and songwriters.
My reason for working in music is my passion for developing talent. I love to find the special aspect in a song, record or artist and play to those strengths. This may be during arrangement, production or mixing. I have learned over time that beyond anything else, it comes down to the strength of a song. To me, any great song can be played on an acoustic guitar and still maintain its power and integrity.

Endorse Shaun EzrolShaun has been my go-to producer and engineer for the last two years. He is always a pleasure to work with. It’s important as a songwriter and artist to love what you create, initially, but also love the recording process - working with Shaun is truly one of the main reasons I loved making my last album so much. A professional, punctual, and all around good dude - Thanks for everything Shaun!
My go to Engineer and Producer. I can always expect Shaun to be honest with me as well provide great ideas and constructive input. It’s been an honor working with Shaun and I look forward to working with him on future projects ! Keep it up!
Worked with him at NRG in Hollywood. Has great ideas and knows how to take direction extremely well. Easy going guy with a fast-paced work ethic. You don't feel like he is taking advantage of the clock and you get real quality work! Highly Highly Highly recommend him!!!
Shaun Ezrol is a consummate professional with an impeccable ear. I would not hesitate to hire him again, be it for mixing, editing, or mastering. I have no doubt that he would dedicate himself to your project, and can personally guarantee that he will be friendly and easy to work with. Collaborating with him on my album Sycamore was nothing short of a joy. Highly recommended!
Interview with Shaun Ezrol
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I treat all songs like puzzles. Every piece needs to fit properly, and the process at which it becomes assembled should be fluid. I like to bring a sense of space to a song. That can come with various effects or playing with the arrangement or maybe even just muting a track for a certain section.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to do mixes quickly at first because I think that I do my best when I allow instinct to kick in. I will save the minutiae for the end so I dont get distracted from a creative head space, and can let the song lead me to where it wants to be.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a mobile recording rig with 16 inputs combined with an Apollo 8p and a Focusrite Pro 40. Ample mics to do any sort of multi tracking. While mixing I use the same setup with 2 UAD Satellites so I can use as many UAD plugins as I like.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Kurt Ballou, Joe Baressi, Andy Wallace, Rick Rubin, Josh Wilbur, Andrew Scheps, Sylvia Massy, Chris/Tom Lord-Alge, Serban Ghenea and Spike Stent.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Depending on the situation but I am usually either mixing or engineering/producing. My time spent as an assistant engineer allowed for me to be a sponge while working with some of the greats.
