Interview with Jonathan Arweson (Elvatix)
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am especially proud of my first label release under my new alias "Elvatix". It was signed to KnightVision/Warner music & is a huge summer pop-tune! In this project I did all the studio work, adding instruments, drums ,effects and mixing/mastering for the tune!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment I am working on more of my own records I will get signed and release in the near future! I also have some work for clients I am in the middle of finishing!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I recommend Klaas Gerling!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I use digital gear, this is because I can carry all my effects, instruments etc on just a laptop, and work from wherever I am at the moment! Analog gear is great & feels cool, but many digital plugins are modeled after hardware and mimic the sound to 99%.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Top-notch support & engagement!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being able to work fulltime from home is a dream come true for me and many other producers/artists!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Ask about the cost for producing a record. Answer: Depends on the type on track, genre, ambition etc!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Write a message about your project, what you need fixed/produced, and expect to get good service for the money!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, headphones, harddrive, bluetooth-speaker!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Recently started my alias called "Elvatix", and signed a tune to Warner/ KnightVision. A lot more to come on this journey!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is mainstream genres, but with a unique touch, that always makes something new!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Dream collab is with KSHMR, also Krewella and KAAZE.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Compare your music to other professional tracks, and try to adjust your mix accordingly!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work usually with EDM & pop. But also do hip-hop, indie, soundtracks & scores!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is mastering. I have mastered tunes for many occasions & genres, always with very satisfied artists/clients!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring emotion, pick the right elements & effects to make the record come alive!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start with either finding instruments, drums and creating melodies/patterns if I am producing a record. Otherwise the process is adding effects to already finished stems/instruments, or adding a mastering chain if I am mastering a finished tune!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is a set of KRK studio-monitors, headphones from Sony & a wide array of digital equipment; such as limiters, compressors, EQ's, stereo tools and more!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My biggest inspirations are: KSHMR, Krewella, KAAZE, Avicii, KLAAS
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My most common type of work is adding instruments, drums to a track to produce it for it's best sound. Second most common work is to mixdown & master clients projects to be ready for release!
