David Kershenbaum on SoundBetter

I am known for bringing the best out of and artist and singer. From Tracy Chapman to Joe Jackson, I was early with digital but learned all of the fundamentals of Analog. In a time when pop music is almost exclusively electronic, I specialize in creating emotion in my productions "Fast Car" for example. I love arranging, structure, development.

I specialize in artists with a message and emotion.I love to work with real players as well as electronics and my records sound real. I know how to get the artist out in front to feature their vocals and not bury them in a mix as an"extra added attraction" an afterthought to the track. I am known as a great song man

I have earned over 75 international Gold, and Platinum Albums; specializing in new artist discovery and artist development. I worked with or discovered many star recording artists; including Duran, Duran, Supertramp, Janet Jackson, Cat Stevens, Tracy Chapman, Bryan Adams, Joe Jackson, Peter Frampton, Laura Branigan. I was a Senior Executive RCA Records, A&M Records, Morgan Creek Films/Music. and have a long history of finding, developing and producing new talent. At A&M Records, as Vice-President of A&R, I oversaw iconic artist rosters including; The Police, Bryan Adams, The Human League, STYX, OMD, and many others, signing and developing star-artists. As an independent producer, I worked with Tracy Chapman, Duran, Duran, Tori Amos, Cat Stevens and Supertramp among others.

There's not a lot of producers around today with my type of experience and background. I can work either in studio or long-distance via skype. I love to find and direct new talent. "Honeybee" the first song is an example current production of a young Ohio group - "Cousin Simple.

David is an icon in the music industry, having produced seminal albums over the past 30 years or so. He worked with me remotely to produce one of of my tracks and went above and beyond to ensure the song was perfect before we sent it off to mix. This involved numerous Skype calls, emails, and real time imparting of his knowledge and gut instinct. As a result of his input, the song tempo was increased, the song was lushly orchestrated, and the structure was enhanced. He's a perfectionist with an incredible set of ears. He added so much value to my music and I'd recommend him to anyone.
