Interview with Lewis Fanney

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Started as just a hobby, but has slowly turned into something greater. About 10 years now!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Fredrik Häggstam. He is just a production/engineer wizard. Would love to pick his brain.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Instead of side-chaining a whole track to a kick, use a dynamic equilibrium to trigger specific frequencies!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop and Chill EDM
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Patience
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: "Wow!" factor
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to research first. References are a great place for me to start as they provide me insights and ideas about how to best approach the project.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mostly use Ableton and love experimenting with new plugins.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Boy in Space and Aries are two musicians that I draw a lot of creativity from. Professionals in the industry that I look up to are Freddy Death, Nate Baasik, and Matt Huber!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I produce a lot of pop and chill edm for my clients! I love working and experimenting with other genres as well :).
