Ryan Lucht on SoundBetter

No cookie cutter mixes. I give songs the creative, inspiring, and professional shine they deserve at the mix stage, by bringing YOUR unique sound and artistry to life. Millions of Spotify streams, dozens of sync placements, and thousands of records and tapes sold :)

Hi, I'm Ryan! I've produced and mixed records for the last 7 years as Camino 84. Releases I've worked on/contributed to have racked up millions of Spotify streams, sold thousands of records and tapes, and earned me several Boston Music Award nominations. (I've also been blessed to work with some of my favorite local talents blowing up nationally right now - like Sidney Gish, Latrell James, and STL GLD)

What you can expect working with me:

1. Sonic Vision
I want to make your highest aspirations come true - so we'll start with actual 1:1 time to listen to your music and talk about it. From there, we’ll set up a regular check-in cadence (for production), or I’ll send you my simple 3-step Mix Prep process and a Mix Survey so you can tell me all about your track.

2. Creative Work
I’ll get to work making your song sound incredible. We’ll check in regularly - I always respond to any messages within 24 hours. (and while I’m hard at work, I’ll send you a little care package to keep you busy doing what you do best - being a great artist!)

3. Top-Notch Delivery
We won’t stop until you’re totally happy with the track. I never limit the number of revisions we do (although most projects only take 2-3, given the careful preparation). Once we’ve got the finished product, I’ll also do everything I can to help promote your release and bring in new listeners!

Interview with Ryan Lucht

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: Absolutely! I've hired a number of "speciality" instrument players on SoundBetter for productions (horns, percussion, that sort of stuff) and would be happy to make recommendations. I try to keep in touch with everyone I work with on here, so feel free to leverage my network.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: An absolutely incredible 90s pop throwback track with very new jack swing drums - been having so much fun recreating the 90s aesthetic lately after my girlfriend and I spent the last year of road trips re-listening to the old NOW CDs. (Lots of record scratches and superfluous windchimes are the answer!) I'm also mixing a pretty wide swath of projects as I'm writing this: a techno album, a mid-80s boogie throwback track, and some funk-flavored singer songwriter work. So excited for each artist - these projects are gonna go far :)

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: I honestly think it's so much more fun and fulfilling helping other artists bring their visions to life with the tools, skills, and experience I have vs. working on my own projects. That's what gives me a sense of meaning and purpose in my work and life. I also get to live my values in my work. 2% of all my bookings are donated to The Record Co, a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Boston breaking social and technical barriers to expand equitable community access to recording studios, rehearsal spaces, and professional development for artists. My studio is also powered using 100% renewable energy, and I offset my full carbon footprint (studio + personal) with offsets via the Wren Climate Fund.

  7. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  8. A: Oh I get inspired by new musicians every day. There are so many new (like, <1000 followers) artists I meet with totally unique visions, taking incredible risks, generally just making music that makes me say "WOW". As for the best of the best, I'm always inspired by Rick Rubin. A total buddha in the studio if there ever was one. I'm not on his level of brilliance and I will certainly not pretend to be, but I aspire to embody the values of consciousness and truth-seeking exploration he brings to working on music.
