    Really enjoyed working with Lance! Very interesting, out-of-the-box arrangements, which I love. You wouldn't think pedal steel would "go" with electro-soul, but Lance had a hunch and he was right! Would definitely like to do more in the future.

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: I run Logic Pro. I have outboard gear such as an Ampex 440B Tape Machine, Soyuz 017 Microphone, RCA 77D, Slate VMS One Microphone and Preamp, outboard synthesizers by Moog, Nord, Arturia, Yamaha, and more. Various vintage microphones. Elektron Analog processing, various pedals, Masco amplifier. Monitors by Bowers & Wilkins, Proac, JBL 4331B Mains. SPL Phonitor headphone amplifier and preamp. Linn LP12 Turntable. UAD Interface, Chord DAC. Acoustically treated room.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: Every situation is different. I place a lot of emphasis on getting thing sounding great while tracking. I then mix primarily in the box, followed by Stem Mastering. I create a safe environment where we can try lots of different choices and then take a look at how they integrate.

  20. A: Mac Computer, Neumann U47, Moog One, an Interface and some crazy monitors!

  22. A: What is the number one thing you hope we achieve together? What is the inspiration for the project? What are some sonic benchmarks? What problems have you faced? How can I best help you? What is our timeline for completion?

  24. A: Creating something out of nothing and the challenges along the journey it takes to get there

  26. A: The track will be alive and soulful, ill give you my best and we will communicate well through the process

  28. A: Analog Into a Daw, then Bouncing to tape and back into a DAW. Playback can be analog or digital at the source but I'm not a big fan of internal DSP in monitors (unless they are the Pelonis)

  34. A: I once performed as a vocalist at a huge event that was attended by the then President and First Lady.
