Professional Studio Guitarist. I specialize in pop/rock and fingerstyle guitar with jazz, gypsy jazz, flamenco, bossanova, funk and fusion influences. I can add guitar parts to your existing song or write an arrangement to your music ideas.
The steps that I usually follow are:
Step 1: We get in touch. You explain to me what you need and provide a musical reference (let’s say you want your guitars in “John Mayer’s style”: you send me a link of one of his songs in which the guitars match what you have in mind).
Step 2: I receive your music and I record a few guitar/arrangement ideas. I will send you a draft (it could be 2-3 options of guitar lines), and you'll let me know if any adjustment is needed.
Step 3: When everything sounds good I will send you the final version in .wav or .aiff high quality according to your specs. I don't have a limit on revisions, the job is complete when you're happy with the final result :)
The final delivery time could range from 1 to 5 days depending on the complexity of the request and from my schedule, if you have a hard deadline just let me know.
I can provide music transcriptions (sheet music and TAB) for an extra fee, depending on style and length.
Let's get to work!

As always, nice collaboration with Pietro.
Pietro is an amazing musician, he knew exactly what I was looking for and delivered a high quality guitar solo in a really fast manner. He was professional and very responsive when I messaged him. I will definitely work with Pietro again and I would highly recommend him.
Another extraordinary session with Pietro where he has proven again to be a topnotch guitarist and arranger, not to mention his patience and perseverance with a demanding and picky customer as I was with this particular song. My gratitude and admiration to him. Grazie!
Great guitarist, very skilled and had a great time working with!! Definitely recommend!! :D
I found Pietro looking for somebody who could play flamenco guitar. His reviews, demos, and resume truly impressed me. Now that he has recorded a session for my music piece, I can see for myself that none of the reviewers was exaggerating. He is simply outstanding!
Pietro is excellent communicating and following instructions. I gave him freedom for some parts and was more specific for others, and he was just right on.
Grazie mille, Pietro!

My team and I are astounded and in complete awe over his acoustic rendition of our recording. We allowed him full creative freedom to take our song into his realm and he did flawlessly. His detail and precision is so on point and his turn around time is incredibly smooth. I’m truly grateful for his talent on this earth.

Interview with Pietro Dalla Vecchia
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Outside session works, I'm recording my own EP of original compositions in fingerstyle-percussive guitar, teaching guitar online...and gigs next year hopefully (Covid permitting..)
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Once I receive a request, I listen to music of the style I've been asked to compose on, to get in the right mood. Then I go through the specs and characteristics of that style. At this point I analyse the track that was sent to me and I start jamming and recording ideas. The first feedback from the client is the most important, because it guides me to what their specific taste is. It's very difficult to understand what each other has in mind before having an actual recording to discuss. From this point on, it's usually minor adjustments followed by the export of the clean final tracks.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I give 100% of my talent and professionality to every request. I'm very open to critique and suggestions, don't be shy if you want to request any changes to my first drafts.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I crave for new challenges, I enjoy every new job as it is always a creativity boost!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Acoustic guitar, laptop, audio interface, earphones.. and a solar-powered battery charger!!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Andrea Lepori as producer, check his work out: https://soundbetter.com/profiles/4415-andrea-lepori
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog has unique warmth, although Digital has come incredibly closed in quality lately.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are their influences, the reference music that they would like me to take inspiration from.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I grew up listening to Rock-Blues/Metal/Funk and Pop music, then I slided to Fingerstyle and Jazz guitar passing through Spanish guitar and Gypsy Jazz style
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: MacBookPro, LogicProX, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, Hughes&Kettner Tubemaster 36, Fender Stratocaster, Cort Sfx-10, Angel Lopez.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Tommy Emmanuel, Jon Gomm, Andy McKee, Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert, Nuno Bettencourt, Sylvain Luc, Bireli Lagrene, Jimmy Rosenberg, George Benson, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Joe Satriani, Al Di Meola, Joao Gilberto, Toquinho, Miles Davis, Pierre Bensusan, Ted Greene, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Schubert.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I receive a variety of requests, from writing and recording an entire guitar arrangement to recording guitar solos or giving arrangement tips to finish half-composed songs.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring my expertise and professionality. If I'm allowed to, my personal taste and creativity ;)
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I always give 100%, my aim is to give the best product to my clients, I'm not afraid to go the extra mile.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as clear as possible in what your looking for, and don't be afraid of telling me what you like and what you don't in my first draft ideas. I'm willing to work a few extra days as long as you're happy with the result.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'm a guitarist, not a producer, expect clean and precise guitar tracks in return. Mix and effects I'll leave it to your producer ;)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I range from pop/folk to heavy rock to funk to gypsy guitar, with plectrum and/or fingerstyle.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been working as a session musician and dep musician for the past 6 years. Before that I was touring with my bands and teaching in music schools between Italy and Uk.
