Sam is an industry recognized singer, writer, and artist with over 20 years in the recording industry. Most recently, she was the songwriter behind k-pop sensation NCT Dream's hit single "Glitch Mode", which shot to number 1 on Billboard's Hot Trending Songs, and sold over 3.5 million records worldwide. With a clientele that includes Facet House, Paramount Plus, and Warner Brothers, Sam offers an impressive array of vocal production services to producers, composers, and songwriters all over the world directly from her own studio.

This signature "vocal mimicking" technique is what lead to the opportunity to be featured alongside Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes on the posthumous album Eye Legacy in 2009. Since then, she’s demoed countless songs for many young stars of The Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, and more urban artists like Ciara.
Sam is also an educated audio engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Audio Production. In 2011, she was an assistant Live Programmer for Nicki Minaj during her stint on Britney Spears' Femme Fatale Tour.

Sam performed my song really well and it took only one take -- I really appreciated how much work she did on the background vocals that created a much better song that I had provided in the demo.

One of those amazingly talented singers that you really wished you had found so much sooner than you did!! Sam performed beyond all expectations and was absolutely incredible!! From keeping in good contact, she stayed laser-focused on the work, attened to revisions and delivered high quality takes in good time for the deadline. 100% most highly recommended!! Thank you!!

What is the one thing above all else you are looking for in a vocalist to sing your track? Yes, your vocalist must have the technical stuff covered (range, pitch etc.) and Sam is well overqualified there but what is that one thing... you want them to sprinkle a bit of magic on your track! Sam has done that consistently on several of my tracks - I can't think of a better recommendation than that!

Interview with The Sambalaya Shoppe
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes! If you're looking for one of the best mixing engineers in the business, look no further than Brian "B-LUV" Thomas. The fact that someone with his credits is even on a website like this is astounding. Take full advantage of it by hiring an A-lister like him!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: You can read my bio above for more, but, I've been writing and recording since the age of 12. I started recording my own songs in the studio before I was even a teenager. I've worn just about every hat in the room - artist, producer, vocal producer, engineer. I have almost twenty years of experience.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Soulful, versatile, and smart.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jack White. To me, no one is doing what he's doing in music right now.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Yes. A mixing professor of mine once said, "Decide who is going to own the 'booty' of your song!". In other words, there's a choice to make as a producer where your lo end is going to come from - the kick, or the bass. It can never be both. Once has to own the bottom. Otherwise, they fight each other sonically and end up making the lo end of your record sound like mud.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on all genres. Nothing is off limits. I've done pop, hip hop, country, house, EDM, Blues - all of it. You can listen to my sound sample if you want the proof!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is in my ability to create a vocal that sounds like a final record. I get clients that send songs to me in very, very raw form. My job is to see "inside" of what's currently there, and bring out what should be there if the song had a huge budget with an A-list producer. A solid vocal can elevate your project to a much higher level, even if your production isn't finished. Getting your song to that higher level is what I offer my clients.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: The biggest thing I bring to the table is experience. I have over 19 years in the music industry under my belt starting from a very young age. I've grown up in the recording studio and I know what a record should sound like. On top of that, I have a unique ability to sound like a variety of popular singers by changing my vocal tone. In that way, you can get many voices from just one singer with me.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: With every song I demo, I begin my opening my ProTools template and loading in both the instrumental track and the reference track with either a scratch vocal or piano melody. I find the tempo, set them to the grid, and then listen to the song as I mark where each section begins. Once I've listened a few times, I start recording and that's it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use a Blue Microphone's Bottle Rocket Stage 2 mic with interchangeable B-heads, an Apogee Duet, and ProTools 12.8.3.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Some of my favorite artists of all time include Memphis Minnie, Bessie Smith - I love the early Blues female powerhouses. Currently, I'm a big fan of Billie Eilish's lyrical skill. She's an EXCELLENT songwriter. As far as production goes, I'm in love with what Mark Ronson always brings to a record.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My most common work involves delivering high quality demo vocals for clients. No matter what state of development your project is in, my job is to take your idea and treat the vocal as if it were the final vocal for the record.
