Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I work in DAWS Logic Pro X, Cubase, Pro Tools, Notion. Audio Interfaces UAD, oo3 Rack. I use Focal Monitors, Yamaha Motif XS 7, CMEX Keys, Audio Units/Production bundles - NI Komplete Kontrol, Steinberg HaLion, East West Quantum Leap, UVI Workstation, 8dio production bundle, iZotope music production Suite & Swar Systems.

A: Maestros Illayaraja, M. S. Subbulakshmi, A. R. Rahman, Pandit Jasraj, Hans Zimmer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Adele, Lata Mangeshkar.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: I recommend Matty Harris, I had a wondrous experience working with him recently on the mix & mastering for my upcoming Electronic Single release - Composed, Songwritten, Sung & Music Produced by myself.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I feel glad to have composed music for an album for Universal Music (then EMI Records) & collaborated with Singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. . Another Indian pop album "Mahakavi Bharathiyar's Vande Mataram" under JSJ audio, where I took every chance to experiment music collaborating with singers S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Hariharan, Unnikrishnan (vocal sessions). One of my soundtrack "Poove pesum poove" for the movie "Prabha", I got the rare opportunuty to sing along with International musician "Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna". The above mentioned songs/albums were composed, music produced & sung by myself.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: Right now, I work on multiple projects ie. Lending my vocals for albums, Music Production & Composing for my albums for JSJ Audio.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Depends on the requirement, situation/depth of the song.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: I could write music to any lyric and fit to a proper meter & obviously getting out of comfort zone & explore more sound combinations. Flexiblity is my strength - I could compose, produce music, make arrangements, record live sessions, editing & involve in the entire record production process.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I do Pop/Indian Pop, Electronic, Fusion, Carnatic & Hindustani Classical, Spiritual, Instrumental Music, Symphony, Western Classical, Choral & World music to be more specific. Basically understand their exact requirements.

A: I like to work the style what my client exactly requires.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I started producing music for a number fusion albums under JSJ Audio Label more than a decade where I got to learn more, acquire experience & explore various sounds & genre. Simultaneously, I got to learn various systems of music which gave me more confidence to bring up my own style in my soundtracks, ad commercials and my other independant songs/album works.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Explore different sounds, avoid being stereotypical!

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: All kinds.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I generally understand the melody & draw the parallel, wherein some songs require more chill synth comps or more earthen beats, I bring the colour what exactly the song requires.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: To start with, I compose/write the melody to a particular lyric or vice versa, then I compile the entire melody and record them. Following that, I produce music, go with live sessions & complete the mixing & mastering the entire song/album. Also at times, I create a groove first & write a melody & begin the process.
