Interview with ISK-MUSIC
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. At the state of current technology, in the hands of a skilled producer/composer it is almost impossible to tell the difference. My moto is: "it is not about WHAT you use, but HOW you use it".
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The limitless sonic possibilities.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it takes just "a few hours" :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Have been a musician all my life. Piano since the age of 6, saxophone at 13. Have been doing production for about 10 years.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't listen as an artist. Try to listen as a producer. Always concentrate on what takes the MUSIC forward. Not your ego.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Anything...from epic symphonic orchestral tracks to indie acoustic/electronic singer songwriter stuff
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Flexibility and versatility. I am not a one trick pony :) Can work in a lot of different styles.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Magic :)
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work with some of the best virtual libraries and plugins available on the market. Also have a network of high level professional studio musicians available upon request.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I try to take inspiration in any style and any artist I come across. There is no limit to improving your skill level and craft.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am good at taking a rough demo and turning it into a polished product.
