I’m SMK, a Berlin-based producer and recording/mixing engineer specializing in Afrobeat, Dancehall, Pop and R&B. I work with artists worldwide, from vocal recording to full production and mixing, to create polished, release-ready records.

Your song deserves drums that breathe, groove, and sit perfectly in the mix, recorded in my acoustically treated studio with Coles 4038 ribbon overheads, UAD Sphere DLX, SSL Pure Drive and NEVE 1073 preamp, and UA Apollo x8p. Funk, nu-jazz, soul, R&B, pop, rock. 25 years on the kit. Song-first, always.

I hear and i listen, my best partner in a mix is the artist. Over the 20 past years mixed Live and Studio over 1500 artists refined my skills, finding solutions and/or solving problems with the artists i worked with. I love to provide more than a mix but also Advices and honest feedback.

As a music industry expert, I emphasize the importance of a skilled mastering engineer. We use modern digital and traditional analog tools to refine a recording, achieve ultimate fidelity, and add character. The result elevates a track from good to great. For serious musicians, a mastering engineer is essential to unleash a full potential.
