Hey Im Matt, Ive been a musician since a child and studied music full time. My specialty is mixing and mastering and I also produce. Most of my production background is in hip hop and house music but have also worked on plenty of shoegaze, indie, pop and other records. Hi, My name is Zakk Merrell, I am a mixing engineer and a musician. I have done work that has involved the production of music such as: editing music for dance shows and competitions, and mixing and mastering projects, producing full album, and mixing for podcasts.
Currently working with Space Knife (seen in Stranger Things).
I'm driven by creating soundscapes and composing music that enhances an immersive experience for the viewer/listener. From creating musical haunting themes, big sound design moments or background sound edits I always aspire to attract the viewer's mind to the magical world of picture.
As a professional singer for more than 20 years, I can help you take your project to the next level. Specialized in rock, but with formal education in jazz, I have a broad insight of what good music should be like and make your work sound exactly how you imagined in your mind.
In addition to solos, I record several doublings, using different techniques and instruments, in order to create a string ensemble.
I can add guitar solos or rhythm parts, Elton John styled piano, and/or bass guitar to your song. As a guitar player, I have a very unique fingerpicking style that is heavily influenced by my years as a classical guitarist.
LA based professional session cellist. Recorded cello for Netflix Original Series The Witcher and Shadow and Bone, Mike Shinoda, and Mike Posner, toured w/Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Played everywhere from contemporary music at Yale School of Music to samba in the streets of São Paulo, Brazil.
