I am a freelance Audio Engineer with experience in everything from big budget corporate events and theatre shows to small club gigs and recording sessions.
I am Chris Hoyt, I have been a musician since 1994 and I play: guitar, drums, bass guitar, keyboards and percussion. I have been recording since about 1997 and thats when the audio addiction began! I studied Electronic Music and Pro Tools production in 2000 @ Ohlone College in Fremont, CA and later studied at CRAS, in Tempe, Arizona in 2003/ 2004.
I have been producing and playing music for 10 years. My experience spans from live sound production to playing bass live in a Sublime cover band. I have played both guitar and drums in bands spanning from blues rock to heavy metal. I play piano, hand percussion, banjo and lap steel as well while hosting an ableton based recording studio.
I started out as a 2nd engineer working for a recording studio in LA learning the ropes, splicing tapes, tape alignment and of course working with hopeful acts. I recorded and mixed Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, Gospel, Rock Pop and Jazz tracks. I''ve worked on Neve, SSL, Trident, SoundCraft, Euphonix and now on ProTools, Logic and other great DAWs.
