With 25+ years in the music business, I have spent two decades touring & recording in the alt-pop band Jars of Clay (3 Grammys, 10+ Dove Awards), multi-platinum records and experience in many genres. Now I am off the road, building tracks and compositions and lending my keyboard skills to other's records.
I've been making records for over 20 years. I focus on what the artist wants and what the song needs. I love to experiment and create sounds that are truly original, while still respecting the pop guidelines when it comes to songwriting and arrangement. I work out of Jan Smith Studios in Atlanta, GA. Growing up with a Caribbean background in addition to playing the organ, drums, and piano in church has definitely shaped my sound. From sound selection to the patterns in my music you'll hear different influences from jazz, gospel, Rnb, and trap all blended into one.
