Interview with Francesco Ganassin
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 20 years of professional activity as a performer and session man.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Everytime I work at a new track for a tune, I think about a new musical solution. The track I record is always a "never heard before" sound / line / solo. I'm a composer, an arranger and an improvisor, not only a horn player.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Spicy sounds that make the song a never heard before sound.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: The first step is an e-mail, with the audio file of the tune I should work on, and with a description of the work that should be done. Then a skype call or a phone call, is really useful to make everything clear. I record a couple of takes, that I send via WeTransfer in mp3 format, for a check. After the client is satisfied with one of the takes I record the final take and send a high quality audio file with the track.
