Jelena Soro is an oboist, vocalist, composer and arranger. Both of her oboe sound and voice color come from a unique mixture of Balkan traditional music heritage, Classical music training and years of free improvisation performances. She holds a Master degree from Berklee College of Music (Valencia) in Contemporary Performance.
Jelena is a leading musician in the etno music scene in Slovenia with the status of self-employed musician accredited by Ministry of Culture. If you need a voice with world music/traditional flavor or you want to add an exotic sound of oboe to your music piece, this is the right match.
Outside of her speciality, Jelena is also collaborating and performing with musicians in other genres, from psychedelic rock, punk to electronic and classical and film music.
