Hi there! I’m Emmaline! If you're looking for some soulful, jazz-infused vocals, I'm your girl! I began studying music when I was only 4 years old and as a result, learned to read music before having the ability to even read the English language! I continued my studies at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music on a full-tuition, talent based scholarship and am now living my dream as a full time, touring and recording artist.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My favorite project I've worked on in 2021 (not including my original releases) was writing and recording a song for Bootsy Collins' latest album release. It was a funky, up-tempo latin tune — we had a Spanish tutor in the studio and I even sang part of the hook in Spanish!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently in the process of writing and recording my debut album.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I love to use a mix of both! They both have perks!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You will always receive professional and fast communication. I will always honor your vision for your song and give my 100% in delivering a product that brings your vision to life.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Often times, people assume that being a musician is "easy" or is just a "hobby". I once had a complete stranger ask me (after I'd just performed up a sold out, headlining concert to over 300 people) if I "make any money" doing music or if I also have a "real job". You and I both know that being in the music industry is hard work and requires wearing many hats at all times so it's crazy to me that some folks still don't understand that music is more than just a cute hobby.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: "What is your vision for the song?" is the most important question! I want to be sure that every vocal track I add to your song aligns with your unique vision! That is THE most important thing to me!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I began studying music when I was 4 years old. Violin is my first instrument. Around the age of 12, I branched out into vocals, jazz and songwriting and now I'm living my dream as an independent touring and recording artist.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would say that my sound is equal parts retro, soulful and smooth.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Currently, I'd love to work with India.Arie, Daniel Caesar or John Mayer.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: My mantra is "less is more"! Don't overdue it and leave space for your song to shine.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I specialize in Jazz, Pop, R&B/Soul, Blues and Funk! But I can sing on just about anything that you're hoping to add a soulful female vocal to!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Whether you give me a pop ballad or an up-tempo funk track, one of my strengths is understanding what a song calls for and adding tasteful, musical additions that compliment the song. I also have perfect pitch which makes my musical ear very fine tuned and able to deliver quality vocals for your song with a super speedy turnaround time.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Not only do I bring years of professional experience to the table and thousands of hours of practice and performance time under my belt, but I bring a wide range of musical knowledge, a creative ear and an mindset geared towards helping you bring your vision to life.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When working with me, I will listen to your vision for your song and give everything I've got to deliver a product that fits your vision perfectly! As an artist myself, I fully understand how important it is to honor YOUR vision for your work while contributing some tasteful additions of my own!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My boyfriend owns a recording studio with professional treated rooms, professional recording engineers and industry standard gear. This is where we will be recording any projects you hire me to sing on!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My musical roots are in jazz, so first and foremost, I'd have to say the jazz greats like Billie Holiday or Ella Fitzgerald as well as modern powerhouses like Amy Winehouse and Adele. I'm truly inspired by artist of all genres from Jeff Buckley and The Beatles to Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong.
