Hello everyone, I'm Jose Juvinao, professional bass player. I studied music at the university of Antioquia, I have a Master's degree in Modern American Music (Cambridge MA), I'm professor at University of Antioquia and Eafit University in World Music, electric bass and doublebass.

I have played live concerts around Usa, Brazil, Colombia, Europe, México, Argentina, Canada, Ecuador, Venezuela, Panamá, Asia.

Do you need to have a new sound on your songs with your own style? I'm the right musician. I have wide experience recording different music genres. My goal is to provide my best as a musician to give your song the concept it needs.

I usually record one take to give you an idea of the bass line you need. There is no problem if you need some changes.

This is my second time working with Jose Juvinao and I’m blown away again by his incredible and diverse skill-set. He has a very strong sense of rhythm that clearly comes out in his playing. Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I work teaching at the university, performing with some artists and recording at home!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Recording give me the possibility to develop a lot of creativity, besides increasing the instrumental level. It is also fun to record in pajamas from home! :)
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Neo - Tropical... I have had classical, jazz and latin training, this have led me to know and develop my own style.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Creativity, Growl, Energy, But the most important thing is to build and complement the idea of the producer. If the client needs the bass line as it is on the score, I'm sure I will do with the best performance. If the client wants some creativity, be sure I will explore different possibilities to give to the song the strength it needs.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital... the possibility to bringing anywhere with a HD Quality.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work in many types of music, however I'm good in Latin Music (salsa, colombian), Rock, Pop, Champeta, Funk, Jazz, Acoustic and so on.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: When I have a song to record, the first step I do is to analyze which kind of bass works better (Electric, Fretless, Cb, Baby bass, Synth) to give the right sound to the song. I record in HD Quality and always give the bass complete edited (if necessary).
