Hi there!
I am Goran, a long time standing music producer and mixing engineer from Belgrade.
It is my mission to bring out the best in your music while helping you improve the quality of your work in the long run. Many of my clients see me as an invisible team member.
If you wish, I will gladly give feedback on your music during the production/mixing stage. I’m happy to share my understanding and thoughts. I enjoy working with all musical genres. Many of my clients make electronic music but I also regularly work with other genres such as hip- hop, pop, rock and acoustic – to mention a few.

Interview with Goran [La Plant Studio]
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I made music for a Top Eleven game. That game has 100 million active users worldwide. Kind of crazy. 😀
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I've just finished mixing of a new single of one of the most famous hip-hop artists in Serbia - Surreal. I've also been involved in the production of the new single and up and coming r'n'b star - Iva Lorens.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: My good friend and techno legend Brendon Moeller is on here.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Hybrid. I love to tweak the knobs of my outboard gear, but I also love the convenience of working in the box.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We'll get there! Maybe not the very first take will be perfect, but we'll tweak it until it is.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love making music sounds as best as it possibly can. And I love happy and satisfied clients!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "Can you just...?" "Sure."
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People think they can do mixing themselves. But there so much velue in letting someone else mixing and mastering your tracks, because the mix engineers listen to your track from the different perspective. We are the first "audience".
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What's the sound they are after?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just put more trust in other people opinions and ears.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, ms-20, delay pedal, eventide space and headphones.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started working as a sound technician at amazing radio station in the mid 1990's. In 2000's I started making my own music and soon after that invested in my studio and started working for others as well. So, I'm over two decades in the music game.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I'm an "underground music" artist for two decades now. I guess I'm not afraid to experiment with finding a new sound.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Dua Lipa. Love the production on her album and she has a great voice.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Patience. And knowing different types of music well.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Only what the client asks me for. 😀 Of course if I think something would fit great in the song, I'd suggest that to my client.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First, I like to listen to the track that client send me, to get a feeling about it and to think about the overall sound that I should strive for. Then, I make a ruff mix with no plugins, just to get the levels right, and only then I start with creative process. I like to take my time when mixing tracks and very rarely finish the track in one day. I like to come to yhe studio the day after and listen to the mix with fresh ears. Only then I finish the mix.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work in Ableton Live and Pro Tools. I hava an outboard mixer that connects all my synths and drum machines to my sound card. I also have have a few outboard compressors (SSL and Pro VLA I), and various effects (reverbs, delays) connected to separate outputs of my sound card as well. One mocrophone and an electric guitar are always connected to my sound card as well.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Although the music I make and listen too most often is quite dirty and could be filed as "alternative" or "underground", I'm really inspired by new pop music production. The level of work and details that's put in today's pop song is truly fascinating.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually mix and master tracks that clients send to me.
