My aim is to work with like-minded creatives to capture the vibes, energy, feel and excitement of their music by using all of the techniques at my disposal, and to make the best possible sounding recording.
Hi, Im Yael "Grave Clave" Mothes, a music producer, mixer and drummer based in Bordeaux, France. Over the past 10 years or so I’ve worked closely in the fields of rock, punk, hardcore, pop, jazz, electro, and their respective sub genres, to make some pretty cool sounding records.

Yaël is a great producer and sound engineer. He loves his job, works with passion & patience. What else ?
We've been working with Yael on the recording and mixing of our last EP.
He is a passionate person. Emotionaly attached to the production of a careful work, his knowledgeable advices and his skills made him produce a recording that went beyond what we expected.
He helped us providing the right material to the mastering studio where we finalized the great work he had done.
He's definitely been a key person in the production of this EP we are about to release with prideWe started to work with Yael for a 5 titles and ended with an 10 title album ! The sound was awesome ! He gave us that pure raw desert sound that we hoped ! It was fun and hard work ! I recommand ! Great producer, greater man !
We worked with Yael for Helichryse metal band first album. He pushed our project at a new level thanks to his engineering skills of course but also thanks to his musicality sense. He brought out the emotions we wanted to pass. Such a great job!
We worked with Yael from tracking to mixing a 4 tracks EP. Every time he felt we struggled to get things right, he had a useful advice to get us back on track. As a mixer, he was very easy to work with, as he laid down several versions of the mixes and adapted very quickly to every claim we had.
Defiitely a great experience!
Rémi from Soul GumboMany thanks to Yaël of FPPA for his professionalism. For my first single, on which I wanted to highlight the handpan on electro sounds and vocals, I couldn’t have chosen a better producer than him. Thank you so much!!
CyntiaThe hours of recording at the studio were a real pleasure.
Thanks to your kindness, the atmosphere was always cool and relaxed.
The output of your work is wonderful.
I can't wait to play "Storm" to my friends and family (the second EP of Sour Eyes)Music sounds better with you dude! Producer on the last two albums of Neeru, FPPA does a wonderful job each time. Nothing would be the same without him. I recommend.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm working with - ProTools HD - Avid I/O 192 - Lavry Blue - Summit Audio Inc. DCL-200 - Capi BT50, VP28, VP25 - Bluey - BAE Neve 1073 - DBX 160A - YAMAHA SPX2000 - modular synth eurorack etc...
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I work hard to be proud of all the projects I have been associated with.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To bring them magic !
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: But buddy, why don't you have grammys yet ?
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My slogan is simple : "more than your music, your story..." That's all. It goes beyond a simple job ;) Check my website out > https://www.fppa.fr
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Hybrid of course !!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: A little trick I did to increase the attack on the bass drum on a hardcore metal project. I taped two credit cards -one visa, the other MasterCard, it's really important- on the head where the bats are supposed to hit. I placed one sm57 in front of the head and recorded it with the other mics. I mixed all that with the rest of the kick mics and the result is really amazing. That's it !
