One thing I can say about Preme is he is big on customer satisfaction. He is not a producer that tries to make you do things his way. He respect the artist and being an artist that is important! Preme is also a phenomenal writer and rapper! I look forward to working with him more in the near future.

Preme & I have known each other for a while. I have respected his work as an artist & producer from afar. However, in working with him on mixing & mastering my project, I can confidently say I will be working with Preme in the future. Preme communicates extremely well, is diligent with his work, & his fares are reasonable. I definitely recommend him.

It was a awesome experience working with Preme on our single Jawz. The communication was great and the creativity he brought along with techniques he used to give the song elements that were much needed. I also could really tell he listened to the song very closely, which was very important to me and much appreciated. Thank You Preme for a amazing mix and mastering I really look forward to working with you again very soon.

Interview with Preme Cordice Music

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My Netflix and The CW tv placements takes the cake. This job never felt like a job. I was able to just be creative. I submitted the tracks not really believing it would go past that. It got me my first major placements, and cash. I wrote, tracked and mixed the records.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am currently mixing 2 projects for older clients. One hip hop the other is gospel.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not yet.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both. I can never choose. I feel there is a certain type of knowledge you have to have when dealing with analog. It keeps you on point at all times but digital is ever growing.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I will never put my vision before theirs.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Exceeding expectations of clients. Most people are scared to spend money with new service providers in fear of being underwhelmed. So it’s rewarding to get the opposite reactions.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: “What do you charge?” My answer is always, “I work with all budgets.” Meaning we will customize a plan to ensure I provide services that match what they are able to pay. Tracking is the only service I provide that requires a minimum.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That I am 100% self taught. I pride myself on knowing what I don’t know and seeking the knowledge. Actually going back to school for what I already loved was the best thing I could’ve ever done. I want to be seen as a professional at all times.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What are you biggest concerns regarding the project.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Communicate thoroughly. My job is to help you get your vision out. So I need to know Everything your thinking pre and post production.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My microphone, interface, headphones, analog console, and a computer.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: My career path has always been music. I started In concert band in middle school. So I have been doing music about 20 years. I have been producing music for about 15 years but have been a certified sound engineer for about 4 years.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Classic but Progressive. I carry on tradition but I embrace the future of music production.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Pharrell Williams because aside from being a music genius who could teach me most of what I don’t know, he seems to keeps fun at the forefront of his process.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Use your ears. Do not try to treat every song the same. Each project requires its own specialized care.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually work on Hop Hop and R&B. But I have recently completed a gospel project.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Fundamentals. I can do as many tricks as any engineer. But before I begin spicing up the things, I blend everything properly, Clean up what’s needed to be cleaned up, apply compression and eq if needed and I never change the original vision unless it is requested.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I make the artist feel like a star. To simplify, I make songs sound bigger, radio ready, and enjoyable without abandoning the artist’s vision.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: First and foremost I listen. Whether it’s the music I will be mixing or it is the clients vision. From there I apply the information I received. The job isn’t complete until the clients confirms they are satisfied.
