Great producer. Great guitarist…and an even greater guy! I hired Corey to be an on camera expert in music production in an upcoming video course called the "Ultimate Music Production School" by ProAudioEXP. I would recommend him as a producer for anyone who needs one in Nashville and elsewhere. Thank you Corey! Cheers, David Wills

Do not hesitate. Highly recommended. - check_circleVerified
Corey sent back fantastic guitar tracks - after being sent some pretty sub-par guide tracks, he added just the right number of flourishes and enhancements to make them sound gorgeous. He arranged for both acoustic and electric, delivering a lush sound that dropped right into the mix pretty seamlessly. Looking forward to working on other tunes with him.

Top notch, pro guitar tracks
LOVED working with Corey !
Corey was awesome to work with. He was so patient with me and explained everything, as this was my first experience recording in the studio. He did a great job of listening carefully to what I wanted my EP to sound like yet expressed his thoughts and opinions and added so many great artistic details that I would have never thought of. I've had countless positive comments on the production of my EP
Great to work with, good vision of ideas and sharp ear. Enjoy working in studio and on stage on the road as well. Look forward to more collaborations in the future.
I have worked with Corey on multiple projects including a solo album and full band compositions. I have found Corey to do exactly what he says he will do, and that means putting forth amazing effort to take your project to the next level. Corey is an extremely talented musician and producer. I have never been around someone so easy to work with and so skilled at what they do.
True professional! Preparred, punctual, performer who looks the part too! Ive only ever played music with corey but if he brings any of the same characteristics to mixing/engineering that he does to live performances, youll be happy with having him on board!
Easy to work with, a tasteful player, and a multiple threat behind the console. I highly recommend getting Corey on your project.
My band and I had a stellar experience recording with Corey. We got exactly the sound we wanted, a great recording experience and even a killer deal. His mixing and producing are top notch and he was always willing to jump in to do session recording for us, too. I would recommend him to any artist regardless of genre. I hope to work with him again in the future!
Interview with Corey Lawson
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Dan Huff, Derek Wells, John Mayer, Shawn Tubbs, David Gilmore, Ed Sheeran, Rick Beato, Brian Hood, John Paul White
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Ehhh.. I love analog gear, but DIGITAL! It's too easy not to love.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will always put the client first and deliver the music the way they intended it to be.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love music. Plain and simple
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always go with your gut!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Country, rock and pop.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: -For a remote guitar session, I will normally request the instrumental tracks with the vocal separated if possible. I'll then track all electric and/or acoustic parts and send them zero-aligned to the artist. -For a mixing or editing project: I take the stems- comp the best takes, edit/quantize where needed, tune the vocals, and build the mix with my templates. -If I'm producing a project from start to finish: I like to meet with the clients first and do some pre-prod, then pick out the best songs to take to the record. We choose the musicians to work with, then start tracking! Sometimes in my studio, sometimes elsewhere depending on the project needs.... Then mix, master, deliver!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work out of my home studio, fully equipped with a live tracking room & control room. Native and analog gear running Pro Tools and the UAD Apollo Quad.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Currently, I mostly do session guitar work, producing, mixing and mastering.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: John Mayer, because he's the shiz.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Dynamic instrumentation and depth and clarity in my mixes.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Melody, catchy hooks, edgy textures to give the mix depth, vocal polishing, big drum sounds, killer guitar solos (when suited)
