Eric is detail oriented, patient and thoughtful with a good sense of humor. He understands that approaches to a project can vary depending on the client and believes the vision of the musicians and composers is a top priority.
Eric was classically trained on the viola and has been involved with local music, not only recording, but also performing with rock bands at clubs and venues throughout the NYC area. This experience is essential when communicating with musicians and brings a greater insight to approaching a mix and sculpting sound.
Eric started his career in the early 2000s working in NYC studios like Sound on Sound, Philip Glass's Looking Glass Studios and Eastside Sound. He has worked for over 10 years at Eastside Sound, recording, mixing and mastering musicians from around the world.
In 2016 Eric designed and built Boomtown Studio in Brooklyn, where he now does most of his work.

Eric was super easy to work with. Got everything done as requested in a timely and professional manner. Went above and beyond with his edits putting in some extra time to make sure it sounded perfect. Highly recommended.
Whenever someone else is at the console I remember why I make it a habit to only work with Eric. He takes care of so much in the background during tracking that when it comes time to mix there's really only tiny tweaks to be made. He always works with the knowledge it's someone else's baby he's helping bring to life, and never stands in the way of that process. Truly a one-in-a-million talent.
Eric Elterman has a great ear for detail and a comprehensive knowledge of mixing and engineering music. He's the best!
